ESC off

I have a 2007 KIA Sedona. The ESC off light has started coming on by itself after about 1/2 mile of driving. Also since it started the cruise control will not work. The cruise light on the dash comes on but it is non functioning. I am wondering how this ESC function works. Is it a wheel sensor like the abs on one or both wheels? Is there anything that can be done without taking it to the dealer? That is a 2 hour drive and I would like to try to do it myself. Thanks Dan

It turned out to be part of the recall on the brake lite switch. Once I took it in on the recall it all started working fine.

This light is now coming on when I accelerate to get up to speed on hills. It will stay on and then go off when I restart it. Anyone on here know why?
