well my friend just bought a 3000gt and i told him that my uncle had a 92 doge stealth R/T TT and he said that the VR4 was much faster, now i know that these cars are almost exactly the same so can anyone tell me , which car is faster stock? and which car would be faster if the were fully modded w/ the same mods?

They are the same car, with different bodies. Stock, the winner would depend on driving skill, as the cars have the same capabilities. Equally modded, the cars would STILL be the same, and therefor the winner would, again, depend on driving skill.
The guy who said the 3000gt was faster, doesn't know what he's talking about.
If you wanna get REALLY anal about it, the 3000gt weighs about 100 more pounds, so the stealth would be faster (but the difference is so minimal that the driver would decide the outcome of a race).

That would depend on the year. If the 3000GT were a 1994-1999 model then it would have 20 more HP than a 1990-1993 Stealth. If they are of equal years they are equal cars. They rolled off the same assembly line.

Year to year, the 94 and 95 Stealths have had better stock times then the VR4s based on some of the runs from the MI3si group. I don't know if its because of the drivers (likely) or the dynamics of the cars. Buts as its been said, the cars are the same under the hood. The 3KGT has just a couple extra bells and whistles that give it a bit more weight.

Well the stealth would be faster, but they would have to be the same generation. From 94 up they both gained 20 horsepower, so they would have to be the same.

The 20 hp came from removing a restriction in the stock boost selenoid. Any 1G 3S can also have the 20 hp by removing a small rubber piece in the stock boost selenoid.

quicker I believe is between options and drivers. The Stealth is more rare. in '96 its even more rare than the spyder.

94 up stealth (6 speed trans 4 bolt main bearing cap versus 2 bolt main bearing cap) for it to look good like a le mans racer (porsche 911 gt -1) benz clk-gtr, must be on the ground and handle with proper suspension (bozz speed dual coil over suspension and exhale properly bozz speed dual cannon exhaust (full system with down pipe). don't forget big brakes (brembo) don't make the same mistake I did. all power and not enough stopping power. I was a few feet from saving my freshly painted 95 dodge stealth twin turbo, some mofo pulled out in front of me and I bashed him. another thing, fuk airbags, go full harness and add roll cage. keep a .40 cal on your hip and moss-b cruiser 500 and 34" steel bat in a bat bag in your hatch in case you have to take out some mofo for pulling out in front of you because he had to switch hands while smoking a fukn cig! I kept the car and in the process of restoration. the good thing is I can insure it as a salvage title and will be cheap. going to build motor upto 1200 hp. I at least have the suspension and exhaust ready to go. most likely will go with foose lusso 20x8.5 front with 20x10.5 back. toyo proxes t1-s 245/35/zr20 and 275/30/zr 20. -out.

remember, all heavy, close to 2 tons. only way to cut weight is to tube frame it! taking out the back seat like the preschooler honda homos with just an intake is not gona do it. I like hondas, unless it's a feather weight s2000 then it must have one or two big mofo turbos to give me a hardon, other wise all it is is just a fancy baby carriage grocery getter. a wise one once said "honda's are like tampons, every pussy has one!"
don't get me wrong. I will build a full supercar 3 seater with honda v-6 twin turbo like the formula 1 cars of the late 80's making almost 1500 hp. and just wait till it's hydrogen powered! faaaaaaak! the next step is flight! GODSPEED

Yes. I concur. What the hell was that all about? Either you like Honda's or you don't. Why would you say you hate them then you like the Twin Turbo then you hate the S2000, then you like it with turbo? Im so very confused. (><)

Wait Wait.... I got it wrong. You DO like hondas UNLESS it's the S2000?? WTF. The S2000 is like the closest you can get to a real sports car from Honda (excluding the NSX of course) . So you DO like the Civic CX with 70 bhp @ 5000 rpm (hee hee hee) but you DON'T like the S2000 with 210 hp @ 8000 rpm?? But you DO like it with a twin turbo setup that would put the price to high and you could just buy a used NSX Coupe with 280 hp @ 7300 rpm. Sorry I'm just trying to understand...

Would not the real question be?
How is it faster, Strait line, or on a road course?
I don’t know the #’s on these car, but in a strait line, I would go with HP-WEIGHT ratio.
As for road course, Start with HP-WEIGHT ratio, then got to weight distribution. As in, front to rear. After that the list gets rather substantial!
Are they even the same year? If so, from what I have found they are the same car.
