It was requested by rsbousquet to do this kit first so here it is.

I primered it today so it can be ready for painting this weekend.
I am still torn between TS-11 Maroon (color on the box) and TS-9 British green as a base coat and TS-39 Mica red over it to get a color like this FD3s C-WEST AOSHIMA by zappysiji.
This is unless someone has a better idea on the body color. I am open to suggestions.

Make it that FD color then put a cf hood on it. That's what I think you should do.

Some paint ideas...
While looking at my 1/1 Supra I often think of new paint schemes.
Yellow with a black roof and A pillars (sport roof), carbon hood.
White with a blue stripe on the hood bulge and on the rear.
As above, purple with yellow...

I... I... I... don't know. I'd ike to see both of these colors :D. BTW, great choice on the car.

What year is the model?

Ferrari TR, my neighbor has one in cream yellow (similar to the yellow of a Volvo T5-R) and it looks really nice.

Genesis2, it says 1986 on the box. 17 years ago.

Here it is after 3 coats of TS-9 British green and 3 coats of TS-39 Mica red.
I am happy with the result.

wOoooOOhoooOO gracias :)

red backed with green? interesting. nice color! looking good man.

PS it would have to be 1986 1/2 :) that model supra was made from mid 1986 to 92... so any 1986 supra i've seen is 1986 1/2.. lol odd.

That does look good! Is that what zappysiji did with his FD?

Nice colour

Looks good. Are you going to use stock wheels or aftermarket ones? Also, can i see your setup you have to take those all white backround pictures?

Cychalen
06-28-2003, 08:23 PM
rsbousquet, de nada. EL gusto es mio.

flyonthewall, yes, that's what zappysiji did with his FD.

Camber, I am going to use aftermarket wheels. The stock tire's profile is too tall for my taste.

I will post more progress pictures a bit later.

Is it ok to post a picture of the setup I use to take those white background pictures here? I will post it if there is no objection.
One more question. What do you think about the size of my pictures? Is is too big? I will post smaller pictures from now on if you think they take too long to load for 56k.

This is all for this weekend.
The seats are a mix of Tamiya enamel X-2, X-6, XF-7 and XF-15. The rest of the interior is a mix of X-2, X-14, XF-7 and XF-50. Don't know the ratio because I kept adding colors until I got the color I wanted.
This is my first time mixing colors so...
I hope you like it. :feedback:

:p Same rims that I'm putting on my Supra (Fujimi), but mine will be silver.

Wicked paint job, once you make it smooth, it should look even better.

It is almost done.
I just lowered it about 1.5mm front and 1mm rear. Is this low enough?:feedback:

Ferrari TR
07-20-2003, 02:36 AM
That looks good from here.
I think its low enough for the stock look of the rest of the car.

Lower it just so the wheel is about 4mill away from the wheel well

Finally finished it after a long break.
No more metallic paints from now on. The particles are just too big for 1/24 scale. :nono:
I did not lower it more because I wanted it to have a stock look.

Sweeeeet. I'm doing mine in Dark Grey with grey interior. I didn't know Tamiya made a mk III kit?! I just have the Fujimi kit with the terrible suspension details.
