mine 94 runs strong. its got 120000 miles so when it dies im getting a LT1 and strokin it out to a 383. but i prefer the sound of the LT1 over the LS1 it just has a low grumblin sound that i just love. and the ls1 just sounds to electronically induced. they are fun but its a few minor draw backs just take care of them and try to get one with lower miles than mine.

Well a 96 would still be an LT1 actually...But I would say go for a 95-97, that way you get the vented opti and dual cats.

Remember... the LT1s 94-97 Have a more torque low grunt feel... While the LS1s have a better top end. If speeds your game... LS1s hands down but if youre speaking of costs then an LT1 would be cheaper to make faster.
