okay i have dirt bike experience on the streets with them...im gonna take the safety course when it comes up...and i have experienced friends to assist me in my needs..and no they arent crazy .

my question is im lookin to get a decent affordable sporty bike..NOT SUPERSPORT..either a 88-92 ninja 600R 88-92 yamaha yzf (i think thats it) 600 , maybe a kawasaki 500R ..i dont want a 250...

im only 5'5'' about 134lbs ..im small lol..so i cant have it to tall or heavy ,i tried to sit on my brother inlaws new cbr600 f4 and i can just reach the ground but cant walk the bike i need to be able to do that...

i also thought of the aprilia rs50...until i saw that it only had a little 50cc engine lol..to bad it looks very nice but that to low even for me

answers and suggestions appreciated etc thanks

ninja 500r would be just about perfect I think. the best thing you can do? go sit on them. find dealerships or even just private sellers and just go sit on the bike to see how it feels

Find some Ninja 500s to sit on. They can be either 500r or ex500 depending upon which "line" it is. Also, if you find, say, a Honda CBR600 F2 that is too high, you can get these things called "dogbones" that lower the suspension.

Every time I hear of a short rider the suggestion of Dog Bones comes out. Go to a dealer who does a good bit of service and ask about them. I've never seen them in person, or needed them (as I'm 5'9") but I know I've heard of them enough times.

hello people,
i'm 4'11" and i'm able to ride my friend's '97 gsx-r 600. his bike isn't lower except on the forks a bit. i tip toe on one side at stops and still not fall. thinking of 5'5". i wish i was that tall but some of us just has to bare with our heights. =)

You may also want to check out a GS500 or a Ninja 250R as well. I found the GS500 to be a pretty comfy bike. Ive never sat on a 250R though.
