What year GSX? And how are you doing the ram-air?

What intercooler? A front mount?

You shouldn't be turning up the boost very much, without any fuel mods

On a 1G , you could run as high as 15 psi or so without ANY fuel mods. Beyond that , I would first look HERE>>http://www.stevetek.com/R-FuelSys.html and learn something about stock DSM fuel systems and how to help them. The 14B turbo can handle 21 psi reliably , and the compressor outlet can be ported a long ways for even more CFM. If you have the stock intercooler , you can remove the plastic backing from behind it and install some grill screen , it makes it that much more efficient.

I have a 98 GSX . For the ram air part on the left side of the bumper theres a knockout , from there i put a tube from there up to intake box.

You need a boost controller to increase boost. On a 2G with the T-25 you can turn it up to about 14-15 psi with no other mods done. But you'll never be able to boost that high without replacing the BOV (The second gen BOV suck, they leak at around 12 psi) Another good idea would be to get an upper IC pipe at the same time as your BOV.

This is what I would do.

Open element filter (K&N style)
Cut the BOV dump tube
Upper I/C pipe with BOV of your choice (1G reccommended)
Cat-back exhaust
Boost controller

You will also need some gauges. At this point the only required gauge is a boost gauge. (Don't do anything to increase boost without a gauge, the stock one is garbage) But later on down the road and A/F gauge and EGT gauge will come in handy.

With that setup you could safely run about 15 psi all day long and your car will feel noticeably faster.

Hope that helps

Oh that reminds me , the kid that had it before , put in a K&N blow off valve.

I appreciate your help man. Ill list my mods right now

-Full Cat back exaust

-Intercooler ( just a tapped off large air filter that is relativle close to an open spot on the bumper)

-Ram Air

-K&N BOV

... With this info i hope you can help me a little bit more .

Even though K&N doesn't make a blow off valve...;).....check out the 'Tuning Guide' at www.dsmtuners.com . :bigthumb:

Cut the BOV dump tube

Why would you suggest cutting the BOV dump tube? This will cause him to run rich during the gear shift , and to lose power afterwards due to running rich for a second or 2. Unless he gets an MAFT and an LT4 MAF and mounts it near the TB , thats what going to happen. The BOV dump tube also helps keep the turbo spooled during the shift. These things were designed for a reason....... :shakehead

He is referring to the "dump tube mod" that the 2g guys do. It is simply removing a restriction in the tube going back into the intake :)

Ah...I see. I thought it was the typical "ricer" mod , to enhance the BOV sound. I'm not familiar with the 2G dump tube design. 1G is more my specialty:bigthumb:
