Do you feel compelled to post COMPULSIVELY??

I was just discussing this via private messaging with gang$tarr. We've both got issues.. and I fear that other post whores do too. I don't always.. there are times I get away from Af for a while, for days on end, but like Al Pacino in the GodFather, "they keep pulling me back in!!"

Please don't get me wrong, I love AF and I love posting here, but sometimes it FUCKING KILLS ME!! Do you know that I'm still here, posting on my computer in my office? I've been trying to leave here FOR THREE HOURS!!! :newburn: Well that's it, I've had enough for one day.. I'm taking control and getting out and I'm running screaming like bloody murder to my car and going home to sleep and do other things!!

<deep breath> But anyway.. does anyone else get "stuck" as well, where you just can not stop posting?

Tell me about it!! I should never have discovered this site!! I post all day long at work, but I do draw the line at staying at the office to post (I just drive extra fast to get home quicker so I can post there!!! :p ) :hehehe: :hehehe:

I have noticed this in myself lately even tho my post count is relitivly low at this point, i defintily get caught up in posting.

I notice this in class, where Ill be sitting there on my laptop doing a post or 2 then next thing I know, the class is dismissed, and I missed the whole lecture :confused:

Im not downing AF in any way, but my becoming a post-a-holic and the fact that I never go out and dont have a g/f and few friends to drag me out, means this will only get much much worse if i do not change soon.

Relax JD, just pack up and go home. close the browser and leave. It may be hard to believe but AF can wait.

It depends.
I didnt even turn the comp on all weekend, then on Monday I had to force myself to log on here and fullfill my moderator duties.

But today I can't tear myself away, I think it has more to do with the fact that im trying to avoid doing something else, and if I wasn't posting here I would be doing something else just as avoidant.

I hear ya JD, sometimes, I just some on to check my mail, and I see someone responded to a thread I posted, then, it's all downhill from there... That was this morning at 8!!! j/k it's not that bad for me

I post all the time in weekends, but don't have much time during the week

I sorta post in bursts. I try to maintain about 3 posts per day. Right now I have a little over in case I get busy and can't post. It's sorta my check to make sure I don't become a postaholic. Certainly there are times when I come and post when I should be doing something else (homework, for one!) :eek: Most times I hang around to see if any one replies to my posts and questions.

<------- I've been posting a lot recently trying to get my third star to turn gold. I thought it would turn gold at 300 posts but here I am at 330(+) and still no gold star. Oh well, I'll be here for a while yet!

I dont get stuck here really. I post about half my stuff while I am at work. Once I start building the application I am working on (compililng the code) I have a minute or two before it gets done. I cant do much else while I am waiting so, from time to time, I'll hop on and post something.

Even now I am working on an Interactive Voice Response system to automate waiting list entries for our software (side project) and the code is not only compiling, but running a test script I put together. Its about a three minute drill. So I am at the computer might as well get caught up here on AF, 3si, ls1 and corvetteforums.

btw I am a fast ass reader (speed reading) and a quick ass typist 80+ words a minute.

You wont get the star unless Igor or one of the other mods gives it to you. Since you have custom wording beneath the stars, they dont automatically update for you. Just ask Primera Man.

Its very hard to drag your self away when you log on.
This morning i logged on and said to DVS that i'd only be here for 1 hour.

Sometimes it pisses me off, i know i have plenty of other things to do, or need doing, but i keep coming back over and over :D :D

I'm desperately addicted to AF... Infact, here I am for my 3rd time today!!!! I fell asleep earlier, and what do I do when I wake up at 4am??? Turn on the computer, duh!! I even am late to class when I'm on campus b/c I'm too busy posting using the ethernet!!! :eek:

And it's gotten worse with my forum up and running now. I don't have a reason to leave!!!!
