Viper GTS vs Chevy Corvette Z06?

Which do you prefer. Who would win in a drag race?(stock, not fully modified)

I saw a 2002 Z06 run really high 11's once. I am not sure but I think it can take Viper.

even though i am a true corvette fan, i think that the viper would win. "if you are using stock engines". The old saying is still true you get more bang for your buck. But if you were running the new z06.5 it would win, it has twin turbo and 500 bhp.

What is Z06.5?

Well lets not compare apples and oranges, of course a TT Z06 will beat a stock GTS. Why not race the TT Vette against the TT Venom 805 and then well see. The Viper would kill the Z06.

Who cares about a drag race... most of the streets I drive on have turns... I'll take the Z06 and call the tow truck to come pull you out of the trees in turn 1.

either way I would take the Z06, a 3100 lbs car w/405 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque, versus the GTS's 450hp and 3300lbs. the drag race would be very close, considering stock '02 Z06s run anywhere from 12.1 to 12.4 stock, while GTS run from 12 to 12.5. This is because of the traction problems Vipers have. On the road course I would take the Z06 too, since the Vipers tend to drift through corners rather than turn...and yes, I have driven both of them, and the Z06 just feels quicker and more responsive. The Viper is a beast though...:)

well straight line acceleration has nothing to do with a car's full performance capabilities. there's so much more to cars than just quarter miles times. that's another reason why i dont like rice. every ricer talks about quarter mile times. 1/4 mile times aren't a measure of a car's performance, but since that's probably the easiest thing to modify they think they are the shit they have a 1/4 time in the 14s

I like the viper, for overall power and styling. If I was super rich, I dont know which I would by tho.

I'd take the viper because i hate how most people think the Z06 is god :D
lol, i think it looks better and when you mod a viper WATCH OUT!! :D those 8 liters love mods :)

For me, the Z06. It has better handling, and it can be modded easily (yes, a viper can too, but, hey, I dont have to explain my opinion!)
