sup? i just picked up a 78 chevy shortbed :D:D:D:D:D:D

already bought a lowering kit 11" rear and 7" front, should be painted sunburst burt orange by the end of the month, and i also picked up a nice set of 20" wheels for MAD cheap, i ahve been waning a truck for a long ass time, plus you know there is nothing like a 400 big block with a tunnel ram :D im keeping the civic, because i dont expect the truck to get more than 10 miles to the gallon  and im selling the 240 once i get it painted, i will try to get picks of the truck up asap

oh, and i also got a 81-87 front end (the style with 4 swuare headlights) and im going to put that on the truck, because the 73-80 front end has the 2 round headlights, and i dont like the look of it, i may have fount a phantom billet grill for 50.00 too! the phantom billet grills are the ones that extent all the way across and cover up the headlights and all that, this is gonna be a pimp truck once im done with it

it will look almost exactly like this when done, exept with dubbs:

http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/44264385chev12220-A.jpg

but currently it doesnt look like much at all, it just looks like an older un-restored truck in decent condition

here are the wheels i got:

http://www.whalentire.com/wheels/limited/pictures/800.jpg

they are no-namers and i got them for 500.00 for the set, with nitto tires, they are a little dinged up and curbed here and there, but im not really going for a show truck, just something that looks REALLY nice from a distance, and have to get closer to notice the flaws, doesnt have to be perfect :D what do you guys think?

Stali08
06-25-2003, 10:15 PM
very cool man..but uh..we still need the real pics

not to sound like a pain in the ass or anything, but did you get a chance to send those coilovers yet?

slammed89civic
06-25-2003, 10:21 PM
yep, coilovers are in the mail, but i am still having problems shipping outofstep's tranny....my grandpa says he should be able to ship it with his fedex business account, we will try and see....because i really dont want to ship it freight, but will if i have to

Stali08
06-25-2003, 10:23 PM
alright thats cool man, well i think like luckylisa said or someone, just wrap it and put it on one of those crate things, and just build a box up around it. no mess, no worries...or is it the weight?

:icon16:

Just don't overdo it with the student loans (unless of course you intend to be a career student). I know several people who are in serious debt for school loans... One person is close to $190,000 in debt...

why dont you just body drop it and bag it?

slammed89civic
06-26-2003, 12:55 AM
why?well, because i dont have the money to do that, bodydropping and bagging this truck would cost ALOTand i dont really care to spend that much on something i have to refill the tank ever 2 days

Jetts
06-26-2003, 12:58 AM
good point i guess
that is why i got a pos 4 cylinder can go a week or so with a tank

i am keeping my civic and going all show with it (since i will ahve a pimp FAST truck) and since american horsepower is MUCH cheaper, my z6 will rest in the std for a couple of months until i can find a decent running a6 (hey i built the damn z6 turbo from the ground up, so i HAVE to have some fun with it!:D) the truck weighs in at the junkyard ar a little over 4200lbs, but it has the touque and hp to back that heft up, i am taking it to get dynoed as soon as i get the water pump and timing belt fixed, along with having the 2 holley carbs rebuilt and syncronized

ona funny note, when i stomp on the gas, and the secont barrel of each carb opens up, i can actuall SEE the gas guage go donw! HAHAHA oh well.....lol

06-26-2003, 03:09 AM
hmm the 73-87 (definatley dirt cheap) style is ok but Id get a 67-72..I got a 70 Custom 20...Im gonna restore and throw some dub on it...400 bigblock? as in 402 (which was badged as a 400) or Pontiac 400? or Small block chevy 400? Trucks are cool. Good luck with the project.

slammed89civic
06-26-2003, 12:11 PM
its a 402 with edlebrock tunnel ram, "noisy gear timing system" crane drag cams, block hugger headers and dual 2 barrel holley carbsi know nothing about domestics, and they seem to be quite different engine wise, but i know i already love SITTING in the engine bay while working on it! :D

CRX89
06-26-2003, 06:26 PM
sounds dope man. You could squeeze a lil more hp by swtitchin the block hugger headers for long tube headers. I was at my body shop and saw a sweet ass 72 there doing...I need to pull my damn dents on my pos haha. Doemestic are fun till you fill up at a gas station . Gonna run the truck at the track?
