Do you guys believe in it??
Personally i don't really believe it, i think we're in control of our future. I think God knows what we're gunna do, and he knows the future... but we're still in control of it... we make things happen

I never used to believe in fate until I met my husband. There were so many unusual circumstances surrounding our meeting that it's left me no choice but to totally believe in it!

I think it's all just big coincidences..... i don't think God plans out our lives, i think everything we do is done by decisions made by us

My response is kind of yes/no. In some aspects yes, and in others no. When it comes to my life, do I believe in fate, and destiny, and what have you? I DO. There's been so many things that have happened to me that I can not explain, so that I can't not believe that there are stars aligned out there somewhere in my favor. I refuse to believe otherwise!

We constantly make choices in the siuations that we face and the choice that we do make is and the consequences that follow is our fate but which choice we make is our decision. Does that make any sense? I hope it does.

I don't believe in it. I believe we control all our outcomes.

I don't know if it's fate or not, but I believe that things happen for a reason. Sometimes those reasons don't manifest themselves immediately, and maybe in your lifetime they never will. But in some form or another, the reason will become clear. Sort of like the quote I use on my sig block at work:
Do you have the patience to wait until the mud settles and the water becomes clear. Can you remain unmoving until the right action arises by itself.

The best way for me to explain my beliefs is by starting with I believe in God. I believe he knows where we will end up, but the choices we make getting there are up to us. We can take the hard road or the easy path, but in the end we will be what God made us to be.

I sit on the fence with this topic. Do I believe in fate? Yes and no. There exist some events throughout our lives that can't seem to be explained, that are filled with what ifs. I think we most often tend to acknowledge fate when something good happens through a series of coincedences that are difficult to understand. On the opposite end, when bad things happen, I think that most tend to blame bad luck. I know I've asked myself at times, "What did I do to deserve this?"
While I do believe in fate to some extent, I firmly believe that we make our own choices in life, that those choices shape and re-shape what we experience. Somethings are a blessing, others seem to be curse, but I won't venture to say that I wholly believe in the principles of Shakespeare's "star-crossed lovers". We all have choices in life. We all experience a bit of an 'invisible hand'.
I think it's enough to say that life is an adventure, whether we are guided by free will or fate. And it's the greatest adventure we will ever experience. :flash:

isn't that like what i said??
I believe that god knows everything that's gunna happen, but we still make the decisions he watches... we still control everything we do, he just knows the future of our lives. I don't think god or anybody else decides what will happen in our lives, we do.
That's all i think he created us for, to watch us, and see how we live out our lives
So G$ believe in fate: nope :)

But my case is that since there is an ultimate goal that we are going after (as set by God) that fate does exist, because we are making decisions that lead us to God's will....

Fate's an invention by people that don't want to take responsibility for their own actions.

I believe that were all put on this earth for a reason for however small or big it is where all here for some kind of reason and I think that the big guy upstairs kinda has things already planned out . We can try to change our fate but I believe that if I was going to die tommrow that I couldnt do anything about it ...kinda like when its time for me to go it will be time ....And I have no real control over that . Thats all that i'm gonna say for now ..I might say some more later :)

I am with Saturntangerine and G$ . I think we're using the wrong termonology. I prefer the word destiny. We have control of that. I believe anyone can do anything in life b/c I believe God gave us the power of choice. But I believe God already knows what choices we will make and what will happen b/c of them. He's allknowing. So it is kind of hard to choose if we believe in fate, b/c what is fate?

I believe life hands you choices, but not like you're in control. Somethings will never be handed to you even though it's what you want. You make the right choices, you'll have aperfect life, but no one is perfect so no one will make all the right choices.

I don't believe in fate - mainly because I believe that every action or omission to act carries a set of consequences. The nexus of the event carries many possibilities, opportunities, threats, disappointments and joys. To infer that each moment of action or inaction is ultimately decided for us in some blueprint and that decisions we make are inconsequential is abhorrent to me.
On the other hand, we can surmise that the decision to act or omit to act could be influenced by our past experience and the circumstance of events that culminate in the nexus and that there is no random event - merely the consequence of events prior to the decision.
However, that philosophical standpoint would absolve me from the responsibility for my actions, decisions and feelings. You could argue that time's arrow flies straight and that there is no influence we can have upon its flight. I believe that each moment we make a difference and that the consequence of that philosophy is that I strive to act proactively and for the common good.

I wrote this one day...there's a lot more (3 notebook pages written in about font size 10 back n' front) going into minor details, but this was the first part. What started it. The rough draft...
God stes us up like dominoes. He started the chain and everything else is just reaction.....But! Along the way, there are choices of how you will continue. So Fate hands you choices and there is a path that will make your life perfect but you must make the right choices when presented. You'll never know when these choices will present themselves, that's why you must always be ready. The choices you make don't mess you up for the rest of your life because the perfrect choice will always be there, even if it is in the shade. But then their are those spaces where you see a choice down the road but it's not technically available yet. My Opinion...Go for it! If oyu think you can knock down the dominoes right so you'll go to that path, offroad, then try. The worst that happens is you have to be sst-up again on the original track. These options that don't don't seem to be the ones, are, but they are the perfect ones that require everything of you to reach 'cause the rewards are a dream come true and the consequences of not trying are far below degrading. That's why you don't sit on the fence and you know whether you want something or not. So this means, "in the end", there are an uncanny amount of shoices for the smallest decision but still hold out if you make a wrong turn. There are more choices that'll put you right where you want. But, depending on how much you want that trak, is how close you'll get to it. Some of the perfeect paths may see to not require work, some an eccentric amount. It's up to you to decide that.
