Hi everybody, I'm a new member here at the Automotive Forums, I am a 23 yrs old guy living in Egypt, attending Engineering college and I love cars alot and would like to learn everything about them, Currently I dont have a car, I just use my mother's Fiat Siena (was a great car before the terrible accident) my Father died in 2010 after I made the accident by 1 week, he was always giving me a promise that he would get me a new car, but after his death, my family all here suffer from critical financial issues.
Here is my story with our beloved car which we bought from a local dealer in August 2004, before the road accident our Fiat Siena was a great car if you never heard about it you can search for it on the internet it was really a great car combining everything a middle/below middle class people would dream about (by class I mean the economical status of people), here in egypt cars and everything else are so expensive so for a car who would cost equivalent to 10500 US Dollars only equipped with a great small engine, cool exterior design, and great fuel economy, good acceleration and top speed for a small car.
Back in 2010, I made a huge accident with our car, I lost control and while moving at a speed greater than 120 KM/H the car was sliding and was not stable, my response was so dumb that I decided to press on the gas pedal harder thinking that more speed will stop this struggle/slide and returns the car in a straight line failing to do this I made another foolish thing, I turned the wheel so hard and suddenly to the left (this was the point when the car climbed the curb and made the impact) forcing the car to climb over a forty something centimeters curb on the road and colliding with a tree and a light post over that curb then landed back on the road moving away from the tree/post by approximately 30 meters, then finally the car came to rest, with the following results, the radiator and everything located in front of the engine were crushed and the impact was so powerful that it moved to the engine itself breaking it and the collision got the car chassis too and alot of pieces were scattered on the road like unidentified broken parts and pieces and the headlights even the tall curb played a role in destroying the beneath of the car, the tires/wheels were bent to their sides and the suspension system was destroyed too, as for myself, with a miracle I didnt suffer from any serious thing I was putting the seat belt (my advice for everyone always wear the seatbelts it saves lifes), the only thing that happened to me was a small bleeding from my upper tooth gum and nose that stopped so fast and some confusion that didn't last long.
The reason from the very first for that accident is off course me, I was dumb foolish young guy that always though that every thing I do is right (after the accident I learned that having a steel head will make you pay the price no matter how much you are smart or believing that you can handle anything and know everything ) but sharing the responsibility with me, the stupid people who were working on the road paving it, there were no signs and they were opening the road for the cars to move in If this happened at any other civilized country/nation I was going to sue them but here in my place, it's the worst place ever to drive your vehicle,(In fact it's one of the most disgusting places to live) nobody respects or follows the traffic laws ( or any other laws In fact) and regulations and everything you imagine happens here, moving in opposite directions, aggressive driving of people who can't drive (and that's the problem), speeding, racing on the roads, never ending traffic jams, no traffic lights,no traffic signs, no law enforcers and the government is so weak dealing with the lawbreakers (generally there are no laws..as a matter of fact there is but just written not applied) even the pedestrians when they cross the highway ! they dont care for the cars moving, they cross the road 100 percent sure that nobody can hit them so they move like turtles, and sometimes don't even bother themselves to check for the cars, Generally it's like hell on earth here, and what makes me suffer alot way more than any other body living here (Of course everyone is suffering here but not as me) is that I always feel that I was born at the wrong place, I never shared anything with my fellow citizens, my look,thoughts and traditions are different, meaning that I always dreamed of living in any better place and obtaining the nationality of this new place and never return back here.
