I'm in the process of building other turbo kits (top secret!) but was wondering what else would be a good candidate out there. The kit must be readily available, reasonably priced and 1/24 - 1/25 scale. Oh yeah the kit better have an engine .
So get thinking and let me know. Give me a good challenge.

Which manufacturer? I can't just blindly make a kit. Besides, aren't most Skyline kits curbside? And if not, aren't they already turbocharged?

You are right all Skyline R34 are curbside! :bloated: what we really need is a powerful 280hp monster RB26DETT engine and a big fat turbo!

Supercharger for NSX kits? :) There will soon be NSX kits out by Revell, Tamiya and Fujimi. I know the Revell and Tamiya kits have engine detail; we'll see about Fujimi's next month...

Those look great! The Revell NSX has been out for a while. I hope the Fujimi one turns out to be a good one. I havne't seen a Tamiya NSX up close yet.

Revell already released their NSX. I've built it. It was one of their finer kits. Alot of engine detail, good kit if you wanna make it into a tuner. Got it for $5. cant find it anywhere again..

Just make a bunch of sizes of the basic parts:
Turbo Turbine
Wastegate
Blow-Off Valve, etc.
Put some piping that we can bent, some straps. just all the parts, and we'll make them fit any car that we want! That way, you don't make resin kits for cars that don't sell much.

was thinking that, but might be kinda hard to do, i mean you never know hat size might fit what kit, so how would people know what to buy?

That has nothing to do with my original question, I already told you I have other projects (shhh!)
Like fullbloodchop says it's hard to say who wants what. Do you need an intercooler that's side in/side out? What size? Bottom in/top out? Dual bottom inlet w/single top outlet? Dual core, single core? 2.5" or 3" piping? Center- or tangent-outlet scrolls? No problem for the seasoned scratchbuilder, just order the pieces you need then add (x) hours of work trying to make it all fit realistically. But Joe Modeler will want something simple and made to fit. Car-specific kits cut down the costs, too.
But this is all good feedback, exactly what I need to hear.

well here's my 2 cents.
first off look at what some tuners have done to cars jsut to get the turbo they wanted in them. so imo i don;t think size is much a big deal. of course make it sensible. as with intercoolers, most tuners get the one they feel or have found would be more efficent for their setup.
also a lot of tuners have manufactured their own manifolds to accomodate the turbo they want.
so what i am saying, you could see what the real world is building, see what is available in model kits, and then build several different sizes and types and let the model builder modify as he feels necessary to fit his/her ride. you could also build direct fit kits for certain models too.
as the saying goes, you can do anything if you put your mind to it. it has deffinately been proven on here with some of the stuff you have all came up with. :bigthumb:
i know if you had a turbo kit whether it fit any of my models i would still get on e from you and modify it to fit the model i want it on.
