99 V6 Blazer.
Here's what's happening... when I start the Blazer, put it in reverse, back out of the driveway and then put it in drive and apply the accelerator, the truck begins to sputter and backfire and tries to stall and has little power. After about fifty to a hundred feet of this, the issue clears up and all is good until the next morning.
Things I've noticed: it doesn't seem to happen in reverse. It only does it after sitting for a long time (such as overnight). Once it clears up, it seems to be perfectly fine.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have an AC-Delco Distributor Cap and Rotor? Are you getting any "Check Engine" Lights or codes? I had a lot of the same type of issues with an AutoZone Duralast Distributor cap that was only 6 months old.

I agree w/ Rick on the Delco cap and rotor. My '00 van, 4.3L would act the same way and consume a cap and rotor yearly. Had to be Delco. Make sure the rubber seal is good on the dist base to keep the cap sealed and moisture out. Gotta have regular fuel filters changes too. At least annually.
