Acura Integra LS Performance Modifications

I currently own a 1994 Acura Integra LS stock. I was wondering what would be some inexpensive upgrades to increase power, acceleration, and over all speed. Im not looking to race this car, just looking for little more 'omph'. What would be the first three things you would do?

NOTE: I do not want to spend more than like a $1000 on this.

intake, headers, exhaust.

that'll give you some extra oomph, let your engine breath, and will make your car sound cool :bigthumb:

What he said but with one more thing to think about the more you start to "modify" your stock car the more you get addicted to acheiving better performance and then simple I/H/E turns into turbo ect.... I love my car more now than the day i bought it its kinda cool the more you do to it the more you make it Your Car. But like he said for more oomph I/H/E.
Just my two cents.

Thank you very much for your replys. that is what i was thinking about aswell. in order this is what i was going to do to my car:

1)AEM cold air intake w/ bypass valve
2)DC 4-2-1 Headers(which type of material is best??)
3)exhaust...i dont know what kind....

My next question is...i already know how hard the cold air intake is to install, but how bout the rest of the items...can a person w/ limited car knowledge but a general knowledge of cars do these installations? thanks...

ok the headers are very easy you can see everything i belive its like 8 bolts you got to take out that attach to the engine and the 3 for the collector and the 2 bolts and they have springs on them that attach to the cataylic converter. This is very simple just unbolt and then bolt the new one on. dont torque the bolts on the engine to hard because you will strip the bolts in the engine and you will have to retap the hole. I learned the hard way but not to bad. OH yea get new gaskets unless the headers come with them. the exhust is easy but you might want to get a welder to do the work. but if you just want to bolt it on there you can do the work your self. If you can do the headers you can do the exhust.
I dont know alot about cars i just know how to do things from friends or breaking it then fixing it myself.

An integra ls has one header not headers lol:nono: j/k. Anyway these things are pretty simple and yes you have 8 bolts on the head of the motor ,but you also have a bracket that is somewhat hidden on the side of the motor, you can get to it from below. Get a torque wrench and torque the bolts to spec, if you ever need any specs on your car let me know I have the factory service manual it tells all and has all the info you will ever need.

i suggest DC sports ceramic.. stainless steel looks cool for about a month, then it starts to turn all black and nasty.

While you're at it get a high flow cat. The stock cat is very restrictive, or if where you live isn't very picky on emissions than get a test pipe. A test pipe with H/CBE will give you like 3-5 extra horses and they only cost 40 bucks from www.testpipe.com

I think its in the manual if i remember correctly, go check it out. I remember reading on the cassete part that the code was in the back of the book/manual. :bigthumb:

For the code on your radio it should be in the back of your users manual mine was on a buisness type card in the back of my owners manual. As for the Test Pipe thing do you lose any torque by doing this mod? I've heard things from some people telling me I'll lose backpressure and therefore torque is this true? Anyways hope someone knows Cuz I could use an extra 5 HP.
