Hey, I'm running a b16a with basic bolt ons but I wanted to do some actual engine work. I researched turboing and swaps but came to the conclusion that I just can't afford either right now. So I figured with the money I do have I could still increase displacement and compression, just not to the limits I would have liked. So I figure what I'd like to do is bore the sleeves out to 1.8 liters and put in higher compression pistons. I don't think I'll need new rods for this. As for the pistons how high can I go using 93 octane? Also what size should I get since the cylinders will be wider, should I look at pistons for a b18? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well I haven't priced anything yet. I assume boring would be like $300 and the pistons would be $400. So I guess around $750 give or take a hundred bucks. These prices might not be what I'll actually get so lets just say definately under $1000. So what do you think? Good idea or bad?

that price seems about right, i was qouted about 250 for boring and i got my ctr pistons for 250, so look around and you might find some deals out there.
thats a good base to start with to add to things later, the block is the hardest part to work on, so once thats done you wont have to worry about it later down the road.
