ZEX nitrous safe for my CRX?

I know that ZEX makes a nitrous system for the CRX DX and Si. I am wondering if it is safe to run a 75 shot through my pretty much stock DX engine? My only mods to the DX engine is AEM C.A.I., Pacesetter Header, and Flowmaster cat back exhaust. My engine stock as you know is 92 whp and with my very mild mods I'm currently at about 104 whp and I want to have about 180hp goal whp with the gas. Is anyone with a DX(88-91 Civic) engine running nitrous? Got pictures of the engine setup?

I want to have enough horsepower to beat lightly modded v6 mustangs all on my DX engine. Is this possible? I've heard that you can beat cars with more horsepower if you have a lighter car, is this true also?

I don't work with or modify Honda engines, but I do know that a 75 shot on your stock internals is pretty risky. I wouldn't go more than a 50 shot. Your stock internals probably won't handle a 75 shot too well and they were never designed to.

Would the 50 shot be enough to take the V6 mustangs though?

If you are looking at the ZEX kits... the kit you will get will come with three different nozzles included in the kit itself. A 55,65, and a 75. I wouldn't recommend anything more then the 65 shot unless you are planning to increase your fuel performance, by meaning bigger injectors or an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, and/or fuel pump. I am running a 65 shot on my mildly modded 96 Accord and have had no problems whatsoever! Keep in mind.. do not do anything to your car that would advance the ignition timing or kiss your engine goodbye! Leave it at 0degrees. If you are concerned about racing cars from takeoff like the V6s' you are speaking of........Nitrous is completely useless in first gear, so takeoff will be tough or normal I should say... all you would do is sit and spin your tires. On the other hand.... cruising at around 50-60mph and slamming the thing in third will get some V6s' scratching their heads! Well worth the money though... and the beauty of it is, that it can keep getting transferred to different cars you own in the future....

Could I buy another D15 engine and put pistons, sleeves, valves, camshaft, camgear,AEM pulley,AEM C.A.I., and springs in it then run a 75 shot of nitrous through the D15 engine and keep up with turbo charged cars. Remember I said the D15 engine, the factory U.S. engine in 88-91 Civic/CRX DX. Rated at 92 whp stock with 4spd Manual tranny. Also could I put an Si tranny on the DX engine?

Not sure about the SI tranny thing, but you could pick up another engine and modify it to handle a 75hp shot of nitrous. If you're looking to run that larger(or larger) of a shot though, you need to look heavily into an aftermarket fuel system. A fuel pump, injectors, and regulator will go a long way in making your engine able to handle those big nitrous shots. Also, if you want to be really safe, and if you have an extra motor out of the car anyways, look into aftermarket rods and pistons. Anodized steel would probably be fine, but forged would be the ultimate in safety. I wouldn't worry much about the crank, as it should be fine at 200hp. You would be able to smoke turbo cars running low boost that didn't start out with too much more hp than you. Meaning you could probably keep up with or beat turbo DXs and EXs, but don't expect to do any damage to a turbo SI, GSR, ITR, etc. 200hp is certainly noticeable, but definately not unbeatable.

before you put any shot on your car, check timing to 0degress and run high octane gas. i just put zex on my car and ignored the timing thing and blew a hole in a valve the second time i hit it. just finished rebuilding the head. the biggest thing you gotta worry about when adding a bigger shot is making sure your motor is getting enough gas. no gas mean lean and that means detonation. just a word of advice. the time i did run it though on the track i raced a new v6 tiburon and blew it out of the water once i hit the shot. first gear it pulled on me and then i hit nitrous as i was in 2nd. within seconds you feel it and i passed him no prob.
