Hi, i have a 1996 integra LS that has 93,000 miles on it. I plan to turbo it but what engine modifactions should be done before i get it turboed. I know the ls engines already have a low compression, but what else should be done before i get a turbo. thanks.

it all depends on how much boost you plan on running, how much money you plan to spend and most importantly, how long you want your car to last. start out with basic things like an intak and exhuast, and then have the engine checked out for normal maintaince before you put a strain on it like forced induction. I would reccomend a supercharger for this car though. You'll stay in a safe boost range, and have more useable power. If you would do a intake headers exhuast setup right now you would still be able to kep everything after you put on the s/c

u can run 10-12 psi SAFELY on ur stock internals. i would suggest u upgrade ur exhaust system however (u'll see better gains)

Also, look at getting your ECU chipped, it really helps. And if you do decide to go turbo don't waste money on a exhaust manifold cause you're gonna need a turbo exhaust manifold. Also a JG intake manifold is perfect for your turbo LS. If you want, you can also modify some internals, but like the other guy said you can still run 10-12 psi stock. I'd do some internal work anyway though.

Theres one problem with chipping his ecu I have the same problem and to do it its pricey. 96 tegs are OBD IIa and 92-95 are OBD I . They don't make a performance chip or ecu for OBD IIa and in order to do the "chipping" you need to buy an OBD I(pre 96) ecu then an OBD II to OBD I adapter(at least 150 just for this)then the performance chip. It gets kinda pricey as you can see. If anyone knows how to alternatly chip an OBD II ecu I would love to know. If you do the mod correclty though you can get 18 hp at the wheels on the dyno(I've seen the results).

that's the only way i know of Sid :frown: that's why im looking at those years to get the OBD I... plus they are cheaper
