Does a lightweight wheel really give you a performance advantage over a heavier wheel if they are both the same size (eg:17 inch)?
Just wondering if its worht the money...
How much time does it really save say in the 1/4 or 0-60?

If you drag race you don't want 17s anyway. Save some money and get lightweight 15s and 205/50x15" tires.
And yes for every 1lb you shave from the wheel it's like 80lbs static weight (weight in the car). 100lbs is like 1/10th in the 1/4 mile (if I remember right).

:werd: for racing in general you dont want 17's on a low powere FWD 4-banger
100lbs about 1/10th of a second:bigthumb:

Yeah but is that "like 80lbs static" PER WHEEL or overall?
Like if your wheels weigh 30lbs w/ tire... and now you got 25lbs with tire... x 4 thats 20lbs... thats 1600lbs?
Or 5lbs / wheel avg x 80lbs static = 400lbs? Still seems a little high??
