2007 Camry LE key

Hi,

I am new to this forum. Before posting this thread I did my homework going through the FAQ's which directed me to the service manual link which did not exist(coz of shutdown of site). Coming to my question - My master key shell is broken and I am planning to get it replaced. I found that if I can just buy the key shell(from amazon or ebay - which doesn't have the chip inside) and move the internal component of the master key to the new key and get it cut by locksmith, it works. Is this true?

Also, if I, for say, buy a new key (with chip inside it), can I program it myself? If I did program - will it be used for the ignition too or is it just for the lock, unlock buttons to work?

Good locksmith should be able to flash a new key with chip so that it works for your vehicle.
I have 07 Camry but mine is push start button.
There is also key learning procedure for a new key. Likely in manual, or simply Google it.
Your new shell with original chip inside should work just fine. If it's not damaged.
