Wiring Question

I have an 2002 GT with a 3.8 in it. Two wires broke on my harness that plugs into the shift solenoid so it will not shift out of park. I got a new harness and wired it how it was wired before but it is not working when I plug it back in. Is there a way to test the new harness to make sure it works? Is there anything I a missing? Thanks.

Are you talking about the BTSI solenoid or the shift solenoid(s) in the tranny?
I assume you are talking about the BTSI solenoid in the shifter in the center console?

Problem solved. The BTSI fuse was blown. Replaced fuse and all is working good now.

Good work on fixing the problem.......Poor design by GM.....that harness flexes a lot.....many times have seen where the wire breaks inside the insulation, but the insulation is intact......in your case the power wire broke and grounded out....
Depending on which wire breaks, in this case it affected the BTSI solenoid....in some cases, it is the circuit to the lock solenoid that breaks.....when that happens, you can't rotate your key to remove it....
