OK you 944 guru's. Here's another personalize purchase question / blessing. Let me hear your thoughts, gripes, things to look out for aside from the ordinary water cooler, cluthces, seals for water leaks.
This propsect I'm looking at is a '85 white 944 with a dint in the front and one on the rear driver side - both pretty small. Driver's seat is ripped.
It's has 140k miles but claims to run great and "drive like a dream" He didn't mention anything about part replacements and parts history, but hope he will reply.
He's selling it for $3200 usd and said his reason is becuase he's moving to NYC and no where safe to park it.
What do you think?

I think you should bring it by a Porsche dealership, or at least to a german auto mechanic, and see what they say.
If a 944 has been well maintained, it will be reliable and troublefree, except for the usual wear/tear parts that get worn out on car as old as a 944.
On the other hand, if it's been poorly maintained, 944 parts can be relatively expensive, and it might need quite a few expensive parts.
