Hey whats up, my friend is looking to buy a delsol and he was wondering which year is preferred. We have heard that the 96 and older have had problems with the targa top leaking. Has anybody hadf any problems with this? And also he is looking to get an si model then doing a B18C1 motor swap, any problems with this? I am assuming that the delsol is basically the same as a civic when it comes to the motor swap, but I have never worked on a delsol so I am a little lost on this, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

www.teamdelsol.com is the best place for information about the sol. Check it out.
93/94 rubber gaskets had leaks and new gaskets were made in 95.
1995 trunk release, power door locks, and a low fuel light was introduced. not available in 93/94.
Aux lights on front bumper 93-95. Removed in 96-97.
Common swaps that have been done numerous times: b16, b18, b20, h22. the b18c1 is pretty much a drop in engine. The h22 is the only real engine that requires some modification and different parts to do it.

my personal favorite sol would be a 1995 VTEC model. I currently have a 94 VTEC model. I would want the 95 because it has a few more creature comforts... remote trunk release and low fuel light... but it also has the aux lights, which I like the look of. :) The 95 VTEC models also happen to be the most in demand, and the hardest to find. I guess a lot of people think like me. A couple of months ago I had the opportunity to buy the last del Sol that ever rolled off the line.. a 97 VTEC model number 361 of 361 made that year. They wanted like $11k for it, though, because it was the last one and had practically no miles on it. Oh well. :)
