If i were to install a heavy duty racing clutch, how would it feel under normal conditions? would it be a lot different from a stock clutch?

how would it feel under normal conditions? your left leg will feel it . . . full race clutch is a waste for normal conditions. Stock Honda clutches/flywheels are good for 250HP.

hmmm....250. But if i were to get the racing clutch, would the engagement be a lot different from stock? (jerkier, quicker..etc.)

if u go to a puck design (which i say don't), then ur not going to be able to feather it. it doesn't have springs in it, therefore, no feathering, u jus go. u can get a heavy duty one an still drive it smoothly, u jus have to learn it is all.

IMO, i love how my clutch is hard to press in. flimsy (stock) clutchs jus feel too loose. so..jus depends on opinion.

i got mine from the honda dealership... i think it was $325 or so for the clutch. The first time the mechanics installed a damn stock clutch, so i drove it and i was like "hmm wtf, this doesnt feel very hard" so i had to get the dealership to redo the install with the stage 3. Then i drove it again, and it still wasnt very stiff at all, but firmer than the stock clutch, so i figured they must have put it in.

centerforce has shitty quality control issues.....their discs are known for warping and losing integrity under load.

Clutchmasters used to have a similar problem, but they have gotten a lot better in the last 2-3 years. I have a CM stage 2, and the thing is nasty!! I broke it in properly, now the thing chirps 3rd at will. No gray area, either its engaged, or its not.....Just like the other guy said, it takes some getting used to, but definitely nice.

For Honda/Acura apps, I would suggest ACT above all....their quality and durability is unmatched at that price range.

Sometimes I wish for soft clutch, like when your stuck in gridlock on a incline. My fokking leg starts to cramp up after a while. Who needs a leg workout, I have a racing clutch!! hahaha

Where have you heard this stuff about the centerforcee quality control issues? Everyone ive talked to said it was a good clutch. It feels good to me, but i also dont have much power at all, so i dunno. I probably never will so im not worried.

So a stage 1 would be just a bit over stock or is that stock? Also, how are the clutchmaster flywheels?

Dude get the centerforce dual friction. Its centerforces stage 3 clutch, and i like mine a lot. It hardly feels any different than stock. If you want it to drive easily youll love that clutch. Sry, i dont know anything about the flywheels, i didnt have enough cash to get it when i got the clutch put in.

Aluminum flywheels will warp, even the CM.

ACT makes one, and I think the Zex unit is pretty reliable as well.

I got my Centerforce clutch & Zex flywheel from Summit Racing. I've also heard Clutch Masters is not that great.
