stereo prob

Hello...I have a 99 Alero and for whatever reason the stereo keeps shutting off. It's the stock stereo that's in now..previously I had an aftermarket radio in and it died so I just put the stock stereo back in and now it's giving me problems. Seems to only shut off when I turn up the volume...Anyone heard of anything so stupid or a way to fix it? Thanks!
