A very impressive kit by Revell. The detail on the engine is spectacular with all the turbo plumbing separate and all pieces fitting great. The body I got was slightly warped along with the chassis, but those are currently in the dehydrator being formed back to regular shape. Shown are completed engine and rear hatch.

Wow. That engine looks great!
BTW, just how badly warped was the chassis on your kit? I purchased the Champion version of the kit several years ago, and the chassis was warped beyond use. I thought that using a heat gun to basically melt it to a flat piece of wood would cure the problem, and it seemed to work, until I took the heat away and watched it re warp as it cooled. Of course, when I ordered a replacement, it was warped even worse than the original...

Honestly I've never tackled a racing car. I'm going by the colors given by the instructions.
As for the color, it's gotta be black now that I've already done the rear hatch.

Got the decals put on. Body needs cleaning and crap. I'm starting to get tired of this model  , BUT I shall persist.

your progress looks great! how's the kit in general? i've seen this at my local hobby shop for close to $16USD and was tempted to purchase it many atimes. however, i always seem to talk myself out of it. you've done excellent work on it!

All I can say is you could rebox it in a Tamiya box and nobody would know the difference. Even the wheels are the male adapter style with the tires already put on them.

Looking good, Syndicate. Black is a pain to get a smooth finish out of. Maybe I should finish up my 911 GT1, too.
Of course, I scammed a ton of the parts out of the Revell/Dragon kit for a 70's 911 Carrera (engine, brakes) and a 1969 Corvair (transaxle, front & rear suspension).
So I'll just use the UT kit.

So that means that if I buy this same kit (revell gt1), I'll get a warped chassis too?

Good chance of it. To fix it, just set something heavy on it to flatten it and leave it somewhere warm for a few hours. I put mine in a food dehydrator at about 135 degrees. :bigthumb:

This one for sure would pass for a Tamiya model If you didn’t tell it is a Revell one.
It’s coming really beautiful. Continue the good work.
