Hey I ordered a Thermal R&D exhaust system for my 92 cx hatch w/ a B16A. I went to get it installed yesterday and they said it didnt fit. The flange was 3 bolt pattern when it was suppose to be 2 bolt also it was like a 1 foot too short. My friend says i should've ordered a system for a 99-00 Si since they have b16's in them. Was I suppose to order the exhaust system for the engine or the chassis?:icon16:

the exhaust should fit. did you try to bolt directly from the header or at the catalytic converter. the reason why i'm asking is because the flange from the header to the cat is a two bolt pattern and the flange from the cat to the exhasut is a three bolt pattern. also which cat did you use when you did the swap. did you use the usdm or the jdm cat. the jdm cat is shorter than the usdm by like a foot. also a 99-00 si exhaust will not work. i have a b16a in my civic and i ordered the exhaust for the chassis and it fit perfectly.

You are supposed to get the one for a 92 hatch not 99-00 Si. The hangers and bends are made chassis specific not engine. Check the part number and make sure it's correct. If' you're using the stock cat then there should be no problem.

Buy for the chassis... and you will need a small section to go from exhaust to cat I believe.

I THINK this only applies to the b18(c1,b,a,c5) motors. if he dropped a b16a motor and he used the usdm cat and the exhaust for a 92-95 cx hb then it should fit.

Thanks for all of the replies. I checked the item number of the one i received which was "THE-B112-C103". On Thermals site they have one that is "B112-C103" which is for 93-95 models all except cx-vx. Then I found out the correct one "A101-B112-C103" which is for 92-95 cx&vx models. The problem was the place I ordered from, their online catalog said something like 92-95 honda civic hatch exhaust with no other choices for different types. I should've done more research I guess.
