Hi!
This is an Aoshima's 1/24 kit. I start this last December, try to make completly different style but still modifing the body.
chopped the window shield, added over fenders and going to scratchbuild interior.
I'm a slow builder so it needs a few more months to finish body modification.
just prompt report this time.

Can't wait to see this project completed.....so far it appears to be a dope a#$ build. Kunta...you mentioned "scratch building" the interior. How do you go about doing that? Do you cast your own resin parts?

Yes, "scratchbuild the interior" is the biggest point of this project.
I was thinking about this and wanted to do this for long time.
then I chose this Miata as test case.
Basically I'll use only styrene sheets and putty.
it's going to be a hard work, but I don't know how is it going to be...

Is it going to be mid-engined? It looks like youve opened up the back for an engine. Looks great. Can't wait to see some more progress.
BTW how the hell do yuo guys handle the polyester putty with your fingers? I have Tamiya's polyester putty and I only use it for filling holes...I never knew it could be used for body work.

For fine detailing, I prefer using this:
http://www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?ALG001
You can control the drying time! Perfect for filling, and volume build-up! Eventhought, the color is in light purple, I have no problem with any primer!

Applied primer for make sure the body style, it seems to needs more putty work.
I'll make a pillar behind seets like Viper. still consider about a rear trunk
and fuel cap position.
going to bury fog lamps in front bumper.
don't start interior yet...

I'll draw panel lines of trunk on the rear.
I'm building this Miata as just road going car.
and taking a little rest for a while...

That miata is so great I almost threw up... in the most beautiful way.
Seriously though, you're doing a great job! It's good to see a miata modified, stock ones always seemed kinda girly to me, but you WAY overshot that barrier.
