Rally Car

Well went running today on a stoney path with one of my friends, well I ran ahead and she walked (lazy) well when i got to my car i drove back to pick her up, and turned around, on the way back man i was flying going about 60 up hills around turns, and i actually stuck to the road pretty good, when we got back to the parking lot which is also stone, i needed to do a U-Turn to get back onto the main road, i pulled the ebrake and woom did a 180, and pumped the gas back onto the main road. Damn that was fun.

After doing that I go to thinking about maybe making a rally cross type car. My question is what makes a good rally car,in your opinion, like suspension, tires, driver or what?

thanks

Honda aren't really popular for rally cars. Go get a subura wrx/sti or mitsubishi evo if you want to rally.

Simply, everything. You have to have everything done properly just like in any motorsport. However, as with every type of racing that involves turns the driver is what makes the biggest difference.

As for a car, for loose surface racing you would want a small, lightweight, AWD vehicle preferably with a manual transmission. Older subarus are good, even and old justy 2-door:smile:

suspension travel, stiff chassis (if you're serious about rallying, i would get your unibody stitched), dependable and low-geared power.

there is a honda rally team that runs a FWD rally car, and there is an interview in this month's honda tuning magazine... they run a civic and an integra.

i wouldn't worry about power so much as suspension and brakes if you're just starting... what good is power if you can't put it to the ground. i want a rally beater so bad, but there's no where to rally in idaho.

You could get a subaru impreza RX (non turbo) which is absolutly awesome and isnt that expensive for an older model.

Its AWD and is a realatively well made car.

i did the same thing in my accord, lost of fun.
Its true though that suspension, brakes, and tires are just as important as power. mabe even more important.
