Get yourself some driving lessons first.

If you are serious, and have a blank cheque... get an R34 GTR VSpec 2 N1.

You'll have too much trouble trying to find a Nür (either V or M spec). The N1 comes with steel-blade turbines (roller bearing) and is best suited for racing.

Sure - you miss out on air-con and a stereo... but if that's what you're after, get a Benz.

As stated all over this forum - you can buy an R34 GTR from RB Motoring or Motorex. There is a sticky topic coving this at the top of the list.

US$90k might get you a 1999 R34 VSpec (still a very nice car). It will be RHD.

Bottom line - if you want a GTR in the US, it is expensive. And for mine - you'd be better placed researching the type of car you want to buy rather than what colour you want to paint it?!

Anyway - Skylines come in nice colours from the factory. Why ruin it?

Speak to the mentioned importers for the options at your budget. You could get a nice R33 (like mine) and have some change? Maybe go on a holiday to Japan?

As of right now, I don't think you can bring in a 34, because of EPA issues. Give MotoRex a few months and if you a really serious about it and have the money ready, they will find a way. As for modifying a skyline give me a call when you are ready.

Your mind seems set - just take care. US$100k is a big pile of money to drop on a car at 17...

right now now i am having a crate engine put in my mustang

Why do you need to buy a new car then?

OK - my thoughts:

Get a series 3 ('97-'98) R33 GTR VSpec.
Modify - breathing, exhaust, ECU, boost controller, turbos (N1s or low-mount HKS) and rims. Leave the paint STOCK.

You'll have a fast daily driver - and it's a GTR to boot. Too much more crazy with mods will make much more power (and fun) - but for the cost of 'streetability'.

Pave your driveway!
For god sake!

Put an SR20 in that ride-on :)
Go on a holiday with the change.

would that be better then getting the R34 and moding the hell out of it. because i am gunna have everything under the hood setup for a bottel and i dont want to have to use it just want to have it incase someone starts handing me my ass. i just want the nicest newest bestest one....i mean hell how many people can spend this much money. i want to be happy and i dont want to go on a holiday :comprage1

If you are working with unlimited funds a 97 or 98 is do-able but silly. It cost you a lot less to buy 96 or older R33's and it's the same car. Also, it depends on what you are planning to do with the car. Autocross? get the V-Spec. Street/Strip just get the GTR saves you money again and for what you are doing it works just as well. Seriously though, give MotoRex a call, ask for Vernon. and if you want to have a convo I can help you out I'm pretty sure, so just give me a call at the shop whenever.

Good point on the VSpec thing. Is easier to find a non-VSpec also. I use mine on the track (club days, not racing) so wanted the V :)

SonOfLiberty
Look. I hate to sound negative - but $100k will get you a nice car, maybe with some mods - but certainly not the 'newest best fully modified R34'.

If you want a really nice (but pretty stock) GTR for $100k - get an R34.

If you want to make a 700hp drag-strip monster (for the same budget) start with an R32 (lighter & cheaper) - and be prepared to spend the change at a workshop. With extensive modifications a GTR will run mid to low 9's on street tyres - without nitrous.

And anyway - $100k isn't much to spend on a GTR - espesically in the US.

Here - where they are considerably cheaper - a 2000 R34 VSpec will go for A$100k. You can spend 3 times that on mods - and still get beaten on the strip.

Read this: http://www.rh9.com.au for a guy who started with a beautiful R34, has spent big money on it (upwards of A$300k) and still runs 10's.

Again - talk to Motorex. Discuss your budget and requirements - they will know what they can get for you in the country.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. A GTR is a fun car - you'll not regret it, whatever model you choose.

get an r33 and have some mod money to spare, i hope a skyline could beat a eclipse even if the skyline was stock
that would be a sad day skyline losing to an eclipse

well in the begining i said 90k but really i was told for my 18 birthday i could have whatever i wanted and have it set up the way i wanted and truth being they dont mind paying this much money so how much for a R34 and say $50.000 dollars in mods would put me where.for some reson im hell bent on the R34 i have herd better things then the R33...

Well - with $150 large - you are in an enviable position. As stated a number of times - talk to Motorex, discuss your options - and good luck!

Just think - if you move to Aus, you instantly add 50% to your money - and have the like of these to buy...

http://www.uniqueautosports.com/for_sale_gtr.htm

Remember - US$1 = A$1.50
My '97 VSpec was A$55k - that's only US$37k - and it pumps out 220kw at all-four wheels. That'll beat an Eclipse :)

Good luck :)

Ok, that means out goes the GT-R and in comes the McLaren F1 or Nissan R390. Stock, please! :)

Now that I know that you are serious here is my opinion: Keep the mustang and wait a few years for the new V35 GT-R, the predecessor to the R34. Here's the lastest from the rumor mill:

-its coming to the United States (ie - no need to import and spend $$$ on making it compliant to US standards)
- 3.5L V6 tuned by Cosworth and pumping out 350 hp and 331 lb ft, with electrically assisted turbos = less turbo lag.
-Lotus tuned suspension
-updated ATESSA 4WD system
-this was not confirmed but i also heard that the new GT-R is rumored to have the lowest coefficient of drag of any production car (though that is very tough to swallow)
-a six speed Getrag gearbox or a CVT which will come out a year later
-price = ???, probably around $60,000.

If you don't mind trading you RB series engine for the V6 and waiting a few years, I would recommend considering this option.

But with such a blank paycheck why not, as sami suggested, get a McLaren F1 LM or a Bugatti Veyron... Maybe a couple million $ is out of the question.

Well after reading your post, looks like you serious. Like everyone else allready said, get in touch with Motorex. I'm pretty sure they can work out a R34 for you. Good luck on what ever you get.

With that said I think this thread has run its course. Dude if your serious get intouch with either MotoRex or RBmotoring.

there is no need to start another thread on this either ok :)
