Rematch Crx Vs Legend

As most of you have read in my previous treads i got smoked by a 92 acura legend(I missed 2nd gear).this kid is talking major shit and wants to race me again for lots of money.I dont know if i can take him.Do you guys think i should race him or not.My car:crx HF with:d16a6,hf tranny,CAI,2.25' exhaust,short shifter.Know as for the legend its an automaic and its rolling on 20's (chromes).What really pissed me off is that after we raced he said his car was too much car for my CRX and he was gonna get his hyundai.

is the legend a 2 door or 4 door, and is it auto or manual? the legends came with the 3.2L SOHC V6 longitudally mounted with front wheel drive. If they have the coupe with a manual 6 speed, then it has 230 horse and 210 lb-ft of torque... if it IS the coupe with the manual 6 speed i think you'll get your ass handed to you if he can drive... but i wouldn't fear the automatic that much.

Yeh like mentioned earler...get an si trans! It makes a big difference! Them legends that are 6 speed. I wanna get one but they are too hard to find!

the second generation legend had 2 motor options i believe... in the coupe and in the highest end sedan it was the type II motor (230hp 210lb-ft), or it was like 210hp and 206lb-ft in the regular models, but then in 93 i think they all started having the type II in both sedan or coupe, then either the auto or the 6 speed.. i think the 92 had a 5 speed if you got the manual... but after 92 it was a 6 speed... other honda/acura guru's correct me if i am wrong.

i wanted to buy a 95 legend coupe 6 speed manual for a while, but like he said, the second generation is hard to find with a stick.

it'd be a good match-up with an auto, but the stick would win.

in the older legends, they come with a 2.5L SOHC V6, then they evolved into a 2.7L SOHC V6, and it only made something like 145hp, but a lot of torque. the Legend is a heavy car, but i've driven a couple of them, and they will get on it pretty well. Race him again.

second, I would definitley not throw down $400 in a street race ... thats way too much money.

That HF tranny is a horrible tranny for acceleration. D16A6 with an Si tranny should hand that Legend its ass especially as light as the HF is.

He beat me by about 3 car lenghts.Think about it if i win i could buy lowering springs,shocks,tach,and a mid pipe.

I have an hf also, and god damn the hf tranny's are so shitty, get a dx or si tranny, and I think you should have him, DO NOT race him with the HF tranny you WILL lose.

My car is quicker than a stock civic si.I beat my friend in his 91 si.He has 280k miles on it though.I lost becouse i missed 2nd gear.Ill let u guys know the results of the race.Its not gonna be for a while though.Until i see him at school.

Well, you never know, the dude could be bullshittin you or somethin, just imagine if you had a dx or si tranny, you'd spank him for sure.

NO.

Then why did quixilver have to replace his and he only has a DX tranny in his HF.

I haven't installed the tranny yet, 'cause I haven't got the axles I thought I needed, I haven't put the dx tranny in yet...I will soon now though...

Is your rex pertty quick.With all those mods you have?

Yea it's pretty quick till I shift into second...lol that's why I can't wait till I get the tranny swapped out, then it'll prolly be really nice for what it is...

Last time i was racing my friends mustang i was doing like 65 mph in second damn those gears are long.

Uh dude, in second gear 65 is when it just starts pickin up...I'm not shitting you dude, I've hit 90 in second gear windin' it out...

Isnt this good tough so when your racing that way you dont have to shift as much.Becouse everytime you shift it slows u down a little

oh my god no....it's all good till you shift to 2nd then it's so god damn slow from like 35mph all the way to 60-65mph then you shift about 70-75mph then there's nothing after that....usually when I'm racing...I don't get outta second gear...you will be much faster with a different tranny..

How much did you get your tranny for?Also is it easy to install.

i got my tranny for $200 from the salvage yard...and I heard it's pretty easy to install although I haven't done it myself...and dont plan too heh

I think ill spend the betting money on a si tranny instead.thaks guys for all of your suggesions. DAMNN HF'S

how much did u pay for your HF?

I paid $1400 for it, interrior is perfect and body had no rust or dents.

I paid 1500.How much have you spent on your whole car.Including the HF to SI conversion.Ive spent about 4500 on my whole car icluding body kit and the si conversion.

I haven't done a body kit, but I want to in the future, um well $400 exaust, $100 computer, $100 intake manifold, $100 head, $200 motor and labor, $40 cam, $200 tranny (not in yet) little over a grand...
