I have checked fuses and then replaced the flasher (under the dash 3 pronge box but still not luck. This started when I pressed the flasher button to use them but it did not work, and after that the directionals did not work either. I get no light on the dash when the directional is turned on, like you do when one bulb may be out. Any ideas of what to check would be appreciated.:banghead:

Sounds like a problem with the multifunction switch (MFS). Based on the title, and before reading your post, I was planning to suggest you cycle the 4-way flasher switch a few times to see if that would get the flashers working. I experienced once where my turn signals in my 1998 SHO stopped working, and after a few cycles of the MFS they started working again. I used Caig De-Oxit in the switch and they continued to work fine for several more years. Replacing the MFS isn't all that difficult though either, and is a fairly common issue.
