Did anyone get any Mclaren F1 related Christmas presents v2013

Hi All

I hope you all are having a restful festive break :)

So, seeing as the madness of a few days ago should have subsided by now, did anyone get any Mclaren F1 related presents for Christmas?

I have 2 things, both en route, and both pretty special that I shall post up once they arrive.

Seeing as I have a few days 'til they arrive and I am just twiddling my F1-thumbs, post up what you've been given this year :)

Due to (work related) circumstances my Christmas presents are somewhere in a shipping proces still . . . a book and a thing ;)

Not exactly F1-related, but I got these McLaren P1 books by Autocar, courtesy of McLaren Kuala Lumpur. Pretty nice gesture from my friends there, in any case.

Only one is mine though, the other 2 went to McLaren enthusiast friends of mine who requested copies through me.

How many Limited Edition books do you own?

I have 2 - #320 from the original run of 1,000 Limited Edition Driving Ambitions. From that original run of 1,000 Mclaren chose 59 and made those in to the Le Mans Edition of Driving Ambition, of which mine, out of the original run of 1,000 is numbered 475, and out of the run of 59 I have #35

So the 59 Le Mans Edition books don't have a Chassis number #XX/59.

They have the same plaque as the run off 1,000 as per above, but they also had this chassis number too, to differentiate it from the 1,000 [mine still has the protective film on it]

Nope, I got mine for cheaper than that, and with cheaper shipping :) and that seller has had a few for sale and sold a few.

I don't think that seller has a copy. There are none left at the factory, and the last one that came up for sale was snapped up straight away for a number of multiples above what the factory price was.

Bearing in mind the car is currently more than 10x the price it was when launched, surely the Le Mans book should take the same jump?

~$1,000 for the Limited version of DA is a pretty fair price, I think. If you can get one for less consider yourself lucky. It is not as if there is a lot of choice in the market place and some sellers want more than half that cost for a used retail copy.

What makes that particular Ebay seller unappealing was the added expense of shipping from Japan.

As Greg notes, they have sold at least three copies of the Limited version over the past few years. I know the buyer of one who was quite pleased as the book arrived in factory-new, untouched condition. The seller has a connection to the original Japanese owner of F1 #012 which is why they had extra copies of the book, and a few of the special edition TAGHeuer watches - most were of the Senna variety including a couple in children's size which must have been quite a rare item.
