I forgot all about this. If you haven't looked at my profile yet, I love Legos. I built this when AF was down and it's been sitting in my room for a while.

This reminds me of one time when I got into a discussion with my friends about what the world would be like if everything was made up of colorful interlocking bricks... we reasoned that home improvements would be far easier - but that some things like cars would be less safe, because if you crashed the cars would disintegrate into piles of tiny plastic bricks - in other words if you're planning to take that thing out on the street - drive carefully.

I have the yellow and red building with the crane (Set #508 Birckyard) I got it in forth grade when my teacher was cleaning out the classroom at the end of the year.
BTW, my Brickshelf gallery is here (http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/J-J)

ahhh those bring back memories... i used to havetonees of the stuff, lego space (blacktron, m-tron, space police etc.), pirates, medival (wolfpac anyone?) town (my train set kicked ass) and a little bit of that aquatic stuff when it came out... :bigthumb:
i remember building car from scratch with my brother, then sending them careening down the hallway, to meet their demise on eachothers bumper. actually it was only mine that would blow up, cause he had all the boat peices... cheater. :loser:

That brings back memories. I wish I had some legos now, crashing those cars was good fun.

My brother and I would compete to see who could build the better (bigger) house. But I hated "kits". I wanted to do it all free-hand. Same with cars... I wanted to make my own.
Car looks good, btw. :D

I don't know if anybody else had this problem - but all my lego guy's heads got stuck in the lego helmets. that and on the older ones, their faces got scratched off.
I gave all my legos (some 20lbs. or more!) to my nephew.

i dont know why, but i liked blacktron 2 more. the black and yellow didn't appeal to me..
and yeah, i had that problem too. i think that was with the older heads and helmets, the ones without the hole going straight thru the head.
also, all the paint(?) came off my original space figures, except for the guy who had the black and white jacket.

It would be quite a complex operation to consistently assemble 30-40 individually-moulded components into a package.the broad range of products would also require a fantastic amount of tooling. And don't forget, toys are market driven.Lego Harry Potter might be all the rage this week, but you 'Hagrid's Secret Dungeon Set' will be a naff toy from the bargain table very quickly.
What pisses me off is the silly money that people want for the stuff 2nd hand.

Inches:
2.5 x 7.5
Studs:
8 x 24
I used to have a big town set up, but I ran out of room. I stick to virtual Legos. I get all my tools here (http://www.ldraw.org).

Yeah, you put the heads back them and then slide the helmet off at an angle, so the neck stem applies pressure to the lego dudes head. Usually works.

YAY for a lego thread! I still play with my technic stuff and I'm outside the 'recommended age' I'll try and get pictures of my latest car up, although it's still in progress.
