the 04 altima should have no major changes most likely like minor interior changes. Hopefully they will change cat setup

Only change I have heard is the all new 2004 Nissans and Infinitis are getting a sound system upgrade and tires on the G35, FX, and Murano. They would never upgrade the cats on the Altima because they dont want the Altima to be faster than their flagship Maxima or the G35.

The Altima is faster than the 04 Maxima. Most times for a 6 speed
Maxima have been 6.3 to 6.0 0 to 60. The Altima 3.5 SE with five speeds have been 5.9 0 to 60. 04 Maximas are not as fast as 02
or 03 Maximas. Nissan must not of cared about the Altima being
faster because it is faster than the new Maxima.

That was just one magazine time. Most got it 6.2 like the Max and G35. The 2002 and 2003 are getting the same time as the 2004. Another reason that Altima mght have been faster is maybe that one had more hp than standard. I have seen dynos on stock cars where they had more hp than said it has. But I dont want to start a war.

I dont want to start a war either, I just thought I would share about
what I have read. Car and Driver and Motor Trend got times
on 2002 Altimas around 6.3. Motor Week did get 5.9 for a 2002
Altima. Motor Trend and Car and Driver tested the 03 Altimas
and got 0 to 60 in 5.9. Worst Ive seen for the 04 6 speed Maxima
is 6. 4 seconds to 0 to 60, and best Ive seen is 6.0. The Maxima,
Altima, and G35 are so close in speed so it dosent matter. I like all
of them, so I dont even really like to compare the cars Nissan vs
Nissan. Just looked at Motor Trend and they had a six speed G35
4 door. 0 to 60 for them was 5.7 and the 1/4 mile is 14.2 @ 100 mph.
I do think that the Altimas hp rating is lower than what it actually is,
prolly cause its not the flagship, and they want the Maximas ratings
higher cause of it being a step up. Id really like to know actually
what the Maxima, Altima, and G35 actually have HP. Just curious,
you have any pics of your G35?

Ya I got a pic of its on www.g35driver.com under the same sn as i am here. I have seen dyno charts of the G35 sedan and people were getting about 216 to the wheel and with the coupe and the 350Z it was close to about 230 give or take a few hps. I have also seen a dyno on the Maxima 04 SE it was about 212 to the wheel. I dont know about the Altima but I heard some 5th gen owners got mad that there only was like a 4hp difference between the cars. That motor trend time i think is off because they like got the MT coupe to 60 in 6 flat. Makes you think. They all are close but it also depends on how they test the car like what options they have on it and how full the tank is. I read that that one of the Altima 5.9 times were on a base 3.5se Altima with no radio or air and a little less than a half a tank of gas. But that is just roumors and such not to sure about it tho. Now if you want to make the Altima, G35 and not too sure about the 04 Max to go to 60 about half a sec faster, get the ecu reprogramed and the intake polshed so you can get hp near of what the 350Z and G35 coupe are making. I know that if the G35 sedan had same hp and the coupe it would win since its about 150lb ligther.

04 altimas have new rims for the 2.5, which are really ugly in my opinion. and the 2.5 also gets chrome tips for the dual exhaust. ive seen a couple and those are the only obvious changes i can notice
