A guy took a Mercury Grand Marquis into a shop in Plymouth, CT and told the owner that the right front tire went flat when it wore out fast on the outside edge.
He showed the tire to the garage mechanic.
The mechanic told the car owner that it was a defective tire. The owner said he didn't think so as the car, which had 198,000 miles on it, had just started to steer wrong.
The mechanic told the car owner that "If you can't talk to me like a gentleman then I can't help you."
The car owner said he would take it to another place.
He took the car to the garage down the road and they found that the right front ball joint was worn out.
The owner asked for them to repair it and they did!

It can be challenging to find a shop that will not only treat you right, but be honest and open with the focus of providing and being of service. It took me a number of years to find a mechanic who was worth his weight in gold. The mechanic I now use won me over when I picked my vehicle up after inspection. I found that he not only inspected the car without trying to get me to spend money to fix unbroken parts, but he also filled all of the liquids without expecting anything in return. He didn't even tell me. He later spent 3 hours which he did not charge me for in order to try and figure out why our van wouldn't start. Needless to say I have continued to go back time and time again and I have also sent everyone I could his way.
