Lockers?

Could someone please give me their preferences on Lockers available for an '02 XTerra SE 4x4 (non S/C)? Calmini, Detroit E-ZLocker, PowerTrax, ARB Air Lockers?

as of right now, the only locker available is the arb air locker. nobody else makes one for our axles.
if you search around the drivetrain forum you'll get some good info.

Ok, so now, what is the cost of front and rear ARB air lockers and does that include a compressor?

I found all the answers at www.4x4parts.com They sell both front/rear air lockers and the compressors are sold separately. About $1650 total. Not bad! Anyways, thanks again!

Let's see what you get for that $1,650. Optimal traction at the flip of a switch, an on-board air system capable of airing up tires and if set up correctly, also capable of running air tools and less enviromental damage from spinning tire ruts. You're right, it ain't worth it! Let's compare that with other mods. Tires: $700 to $900. Winch and winch bumper: $1,200 to $2,000. Lift including a steering up grade: $1,200 to $2,000. I don't know, it doesn't seem a whole lot more expensive than the rest of our trucks to me.

Not saying it's not worth it Gordon, just saying it's a lot of cash to blow at once, and on my budget that's anything but "not bad." Tires are the biggest single expense I've incurred so far at $600, everything else has been under $500 bit by bit. A rear locker, compressor, and R&P setup is considerably more.

You could do it like I did. I installed the dual batteries to power everything first. Then I built the on-board air system. After that, I added the lockers. Then once my drivetrain was finished, added tires and lift. A piece at a time spreads the cost out a bit. It made life a little easier. But alas, now I am making a few more changes. But after that I am finished with all but an SAS conversion. Now that I have acquired a few extra parts in that area, who knows?
