Hey, I've done a d16 swap in my car before, but I want to swap a b16a in now, how difficult is it going to be? I mean, I know its going to be different, but on a scale of 1 to 10, how much more complicated is a b16 swap than a d16?

Well, you gotta put in new motor mounts, re-wire the harness, then you gotta deal with all the differet parts you need, like water pump, timing belt, throttle cable, axles, radiator hoses, and there's probably some stuff I forgot. I wouldn't say it's much harder, but more time consuming.

When looking for aftermarket parts for the B16 - like in magz and online, how do i know which are compatible for it ? You know how they say for ex: "Civic hb 88-91 " Well if you got a b16 in yer civic, you know what im sayin ? ? Im kinda new to engine swapping and compatibility more. I know kinda the basix'. But i need to get into it. Cuz my dad iz in the marines, and a guy works under him, and has the "hook up" w/ $h!t from NOPI and gets crazy discounts. i think it was nopi anyways.. but This guy my dad knows is retiring from M.C's in DECEMBER. So hes gonna get his use outta him cuz he can get me all kinds of stuff really cheap includin engine, tranny, ecu - the works..
thanks -
PS: what kind of speed / acceleration differences are there in b16 and b18 ? w/all the basic bolt ons including super charger ?
thanks - again

Go here for more info on the swap
www.hasport.com
Out of 1-10 i'd say a 6 . The wiring is the only hard part. Other things is so easy.

b18 has more power and torque. I would go gsr/type r over b16 any day. On the acceleration part it depends on what tranny you are using. About the supercharger and basic bolt ons and with 6lb of boost should hit high 13s to low 14s. Depends on your skills and suspension and launching.
