Yeah, read the rules of that site though:

Please be sure that the material you send to us is yours, and not someone else's.
Please be sure that the material is not copyrighted and/or stolen from another website(s) and/or party(s). You must be fully aware that by sending us your material, you are in effect releasing us from any legal ramifications that may arise from the public display of the images in question.
We have the right to not accept your contribution without any further explanations. We also do not accept any kind of material which is bizarre, irrelevant, might be considered as hard pornography and as illegal or abusing material.
If the above cases do happen, autoshow membership will be terminated and deleted as soon as possible without further explanation.
By sending in your cars to our site, you have allowed us to show them at our web site. The copyright will remain yours. We do not allow other sites to copy your photos from us without your permission. If they still do so, we try to charge them with a fee (penalty) of 200 US$ per day and per jpg. Half of that money will be given to you. But this is mainly theoretical. In real life, the other webmaster always deleted the pics immediately and claimed, that the jpgs were brought to them via an anonymous surfer.
Autoshow also has a policy to not make any fortune from your data and images submitted to us. Autoshow will never also published the following data : your E-mail Address.
At last, keep up the automobile styling culture !

The thing is anyone can easily crop out the car itself. You need the letters to cover the subject of the picture, but set the opacity low so it doesn't disrupt people from viewing the model.

It's sad that people can stoop this low.
We've got to figure a way so that people can't steal our work.
Some good photchoppers could alter our labels.

Unfortunately this is how it is on the internet...AF members won't be at every forum our pics have been jacked at, the only way we can prevent this is through transparent watermarking like the Syndicate did...so sad it has come to this though :(

There's always a way to get around that. All you need to do it take a screenshot, then crop it down to the image you want:

its very disconcerting that this is happening. it makes me want to stop sharing any of my work and such on public forums altogether.
i love sharing my work and probaly won't stop sharing but having someone take credit for someone else's work is just plain wrong. if it happens to me, more than likely i won't be posting any of my work on af or any public forum.
i take pride in my hobby and my pieces. i will not allow my work to be claimed by another.
the reason why my work is not reproduced is because of what chris is going through with the shop in hong kong. i've contemplated increasing the quality of my kits for reproduction but ultimately, its the possibility of someone stealing it deterrs me from doing so.
i feel for both pman and chris. i really do. they've placed alot of work into their models and to have someone take the credit for them just angers me. sorry for this long post but i have strong feelings on the matter of stealing the work of others.

OK..here goes my opinion...
Someone obviously wishes they could aspire to the popularity/talent/skill that Warren (in this case) has obtained. We have all dreamt our little dream of infamy…of which very few are realized. In no way am I saying what this perpetrator has done is correct…but the simple fact is that he/she is envious of Warren’s talent (as I myself am) to the point of plagiarism (of which I would never do).
Having said that…
To take credit for someone else’s sacrifice (or devotion/talent/skill/labor) is pure DISRESPECT. In my opinion we should not even give any attention to these imposters. They will lead their false facade until their own followers uncover them. At which time they will be left in a state of ruin…
I share my struggles (to some perhaps a small bit of talent/skill) openly to my fellow AF members…I have no concern with what happens to the images or ideas that I post here. I post them to share with my friends…
These are the ramblings of a mature adult…after several drinks laden with RUM…if you disagree don’t worry…I may also as soon as I sober up!
-Rick
In other words…FUG ‘EM…they’ll get what they deserve and we know the truth!

thats not possible with my "right-click-disable-script" (I hope :iceslolan)
The function is normally not for the pics, its only to protect the html code!!!
The best way to protect the pics is the watermark (name in the pic or something like that) all the other things are to easy !!

But the person has said sorry and said it was a bad mistake and is very sorry for there actions
All i can say is that i'm very very dissappointed and thinking about not bothering to post any more pics of projects   ....but that kind of kills off what this forum is all about
I really dont have a problem with people who want to use a photo of my models....As long as they ask first and give credit to were they got it from and dont want to claim it as there's.

According to the User Guidelines of that site, stealing other people's work is instant account deletion.
Warren, the least you should do is make certain the person's account is deleted, seriously.
Had he not been caught, he would not have apologised.....

I have found out who the person is, and what has pissed me off even more is this person has been sending me PM's about entering our Model of the year contest etc etc
Cheers

Who exactly is it?
I just want to give him/her what he/she deserves.:cya: :chair: :slap: :nutkick: :twak: :swear: And so we all can keep a lookout for him/her.
There is no way someone can "mistakenly" steal anything. He/She knew exactly what they were doing.
P.S. I have no patience or mercy with supidity.:bananadie
Thanks guys for your help and support in finding this and helping out......you lot are a great bunch here !!

I got the email back from the admin and this is what he said
Hi Henry,
Please forgive my english if it is poor...
I have sent the detail email and progress report to Warren personally.
Nevertheless, thank you for bringing this up and keep me informed.
Right now, i and my admin's team are discussing this problem and eventually will make a decision.
The punishment range from temporarily-banned Welly to Permanent Deletion and Forever-Denied-Access to our site.
Thx

They'd already taken the pic down when I looked, I guess... Was he posting it as his own model car, or his own real car?

Well, I have that site in my bookmarks, cause they have some pretty nice "real life" cars, and I just so happen to stumble across the persons post.

if you have a web browser like Opera.. you can right click hassle free. also.. if you hold down right click, then press the left click button while holding down right click, let go of right click, then let go of left click the menu will popup with no hassles. however, if you do this to steal picture, you are stupid. i can't stand people who do this :( i say permanent deletion! also ..he must browse and use this site.. BAN HIM!!! :loser: :bloated:

To me it looked like he was trying to pass it off as his real life car, there was a separate section for 1/24 autos where he posted a few pics of a model 350Z and BMW Z3 (or Z8, can't remember) I suppose it's a compliment he tried to pass Warren's work off as real
