I like what their TRYING to do. If you look you will see that they are trying to bring back the looks of the 5 and 6 a little but, they need to change that stupid grill:chair:
Well at least the first one looks that way, the 2nd one on the other hand is just fuggly:gay:

i hate those headlights ALOT. They should change it, it looks like a 02 Nissan Altima front headlights, but throughout it looks like the Evo 7/8 front.

If Mitsu is trying to bring back the looks of the Evo 5 or 6, then they should not comprimise and bring back the looks.
These ugly designs are, well, so ugly, that it overrules the perfect handling and performance. Oh well.
I'd be glad when the Evo is dead. I'd only respect the Evo 1-7 range (5 and 6 the most).
:frown:
PS Isn't it just funny that the people who post a concept (meaning idea) without justification, whether that idea is actually true or not, and post with the poorest standard of English (capital letters, no or little punctuation - you know the drill), are always those who are very new to AF.

They do not have a Mirage/Lancer chassis in production anymore to build off. The chances of Mitsubishi producing something like that again seem extremely slim to me.
I personally like the first pic. The second isn't bad, but I prefer the fogs for this body style.

Tso, every post of urs I see u have no idea. He said they no longer have a mirage or lancer shell to work off. U realise that the EVO 7 and 8 is a CEDIA not a LANCER dont u?
And u call urself a know all enthusiast in every post u write, and then get it wrong in every post u write.

Mitsi still make a Lancer and a Mirage, both are made in Europe and Japan, and while the Lancer is a bit odd looking, the Mirage is quite cool.
The EVO 8 is based on the Cedia platform because it's Bigger and stiffer than the Lancer, and because the US Lancer is actualy a Cedia.
This saves Mitsi money on getting the EVO 8 into the US market. (the USDM EVO 8 is quite a differnt car to what the rest of the world gets, to begin with its only got EVO 6 running gear)
There will not be an EVO 9. There might be an EVO 8.5, or an EVO 8 restyed and midly tuned and called an EVO 9, but there will not be another Lancer/Cedia based Evolution.
Mitsubishi is gearing up to use the New Mirage as its next WRC car base, it might be called an EVOLUTION Mirage, but there is a History of hotted up Mirages being called CYBORGS that goes back to about the same time as the EVO I when an AWD Turbo Mirage was made to compete with cars like the Civic SiR, GTi-R Pulsar etc etc etc.
Since then AWD, FWD, Turbo and Mivec models have been sold in Japan (and even some base model Mirages with Cyborg body and suspension kits.)

yes, well aware of the cedia chassis. it is more taught.
i mentioned the possibility of them calling it the E8.5 or the E9. also, i said the E7-E8(perhaps the 8.5 or 9) are the same.
what you see as being wrong?

In the post above mine? A few things. :)
I was just summing everything up in one nice post, and adding some extra information to clarify things.

The Evo 9 is nothing but an over-speculated rumor- Mitsubishis attention has turned to it's new Colt- which I think made it's debut at Geneva- In all honesty I don't like the Cedia it looks goofy and over-done- like Moppie said- there is the possiblilty of a rehash in styling- but little in the way of technoloical advancements over the VIII would be offered. Personally it's good to see the Evolution Lancer go- it's been matter of further downhill ever since the VI- personally I think the little Colt with AWD and Lancer-like power (hopefully not from the 4G63) shoul be a litle ripper

has anyone seen the 2004 lancer ralliart edition?...well the headlamps are exatcly the same as the 'evo ix'...the us spec lancers will begin to have a 'face lift'-mitsu...all the lancers will have these head lamps, but ralliart will have a black-housing version...if you ask me...it looks like the 2003 accord head lamps...i think mitsu should make head lamps like my beemer (bmw)...bring in the halos/angel eyes!

Mirages and Lancers have not been in the Japanese line-up for a few years now. they still sell Lancers and Mirages in Australia tho.

The LAncer in Aus is a Cedia by another name (But I think they might still sell a few of the old Lancer models alongside it like the MR Coupe- I don't know) and I think you guys must be the only ones left with the Mirage- in Europe and NZ it was replaced by the Dutch Space Star and the Japanese have 1 billion little Microcars to replace it with :bloated:
I personally can't wait for the new Colt- it'll be the first Mitsubishi in years (aside from the Evo) that isn't lagging behind the competition

ok, i know the lancer evo's looks have been going on the downside since 6, but the performance is going way up. I mean, people are saying, "All they did was improve the torque...". Okay that's like saying, "All they did was make it faster.". I mean, torque's the only reason that Evo III out performed the WRX STI. And since Evo III just came out in america, it'll be more popular than ever. Now I don't know if the Evo IX rumors are true, and I do agree that the photos of the car are even worse looking than the III. but you can't blame mitsu for trying to encorporate some of the looks of the V and IV (because they looked so much better, I think they just overdone it a little). just like how people are begging mitsu to incorporate the looks of the 95-98 eclipse with the V6 of the 03 eclipse. but I'm sure most of you will agree with me, if there is a IX, it'll probably be the best rally racer developed yet.
