2Air not ready

I have a 2001 Jetta with a 2.0. It was throwing codes, and we repaired those issues. Currently no CEL comes on at all. However, there are 2 not ready codes, one being CAT and the other being 2AIR. Is there anything that can be done about the 2AIR not ready other than changing the pump? It is my stepson's car and he has no money since he is in college. I am on disability and have no money. If there is a fuse or a wire to check then I would appreciate that info. I have verified that the hoses are connected properly and are not leaking.

PS, we do not have a vag com, only an ODBII scanner.

Try a search for a recall on the pump. I think there was one but can't remember which year, and it might be too late to get it. It could just be the gasket on the pump, they are known to disintegrate and leak.
