Left foot rest removal

Is it hard to remove the left foot rest on a 2005 Honda Civic? I want to take it off in order to clean it. It appears as though there's just a screw (with a nut) and also a snap on piece. I'm hoping that the screw isn't going to detach something BEHIND it in the engine compartment or something.
