temp guage

The temperature guage in my 89DX doesnt read right......when the engine is cold it stays down, but when it heats up it moves up and down randomly...sometimes it stays up around the middle for a while, but it usually fluctuates randomly....would this be a problem with the thermostat or something in the guage itself?

Im guessing your coolant temp sensor.

Could be a bad thermostat. Also check your grounds.
