2008 Prix - Does ignition key open driver door lock?

I have a 2008 Prix. The ignition key goes in to the driver door lock, but won't turn at all. Is there a different key for lock/unlock purposes? Or does it sound like my lock is broke?

I sprayed some WD-40 in the lock a couple weeks ago, not change. It will not move one bit, which made me wonder if it requires a different key.

Does anyone have suggestions to get the manual lock working again?

Only key I know, where you need a second key for the door, is PassKey I & II, because it has a resistor chip on the outside of the key, which doesn't fit the door lock........so, since I think you have PassKey III or PassLock, it should open the door......

Could never understand why they went with only one door lock.....every car today comes with a remote......but when cars get traded, remotes get lost, or sometimes there is a problem with the system......now if you have a problem with the driver's door lock, you can't go to the passenger door.....

If you are lucky, and OnStar is active, in a pinch, they can unlock the door for you, but you better know your PIN number....

Yeah, the lack of locks is frustrating. Well, I got it to work with the ignition key. I don't think I ever used the manual door lock, more than one or two times since I bought the car new!

I squirted full of more WD-40 tonight, then put the key in and just jostled, wiggled & bumped it around for 30 sec or so, careful not to actually break it off. Suddenly, VOILA it turned!

From now on I'll probably turn the locks on both cars every oil change.

I've had keys cut that weren't exactly right. They would work in one lock but not the other. Since the key is a double cut, I've also had keys that worked better in one direction then the other.
