Model has decals for Liveries 1 and 2, but I'll probably build the 3rd option with custom decals and some bodywork.

Regards,
Denilson

Looking forward to this build.

Looks like an interesting kit. Seems like the second and third options will require some fairly major reshaping of the nose. Is that some styrene sheet you've added to the cockpit section in the 5th pic?

Where did these cars compete?

ianc

Got it! According to Paul Parker's 'Sportscar Racing In Camera 1970 - 79' the photo with 'Livery 3' is at the 1972 Osterreichring 1000km, with the 908-2 being driven by Luiz-Pereira Bueno and Jose Renato Catapani. Looks like this was a one-off entry in the '72 World Manufacturers' Championship, so I don't know what else they were doing that year, or in '71...will have to dig through the books.

Good luck with the build!

Hello guys! Thanks for your interest in this thread.

This particular car raced in some long-duration races in Brazil in the early '70s. It also competed in some south american races before being sold.

Nowadays it's back to brazil and it was restored to it's original specs of late '60s. Mr. Paulo Fiote (the owner of Two Cats Models) has a walkaround of the car in this photo-album:
http://public.fotki.com/ibsenop/automveis/classicosdecompeticao/porsche-908/

After a more in depth research, I corrected the dates of the liveries.

Regards,
Denilson

I just found the racing history of this car... it won a lot of races!!!
