My deepest sympathy to his family.

It's one thing to start / make a tribute build, no doubt, but it's another thing to exactly replicate the car he lost his life in only a few hours ago!?
The terrible accident just happened, man, the flames are just extinguished, the shock is still around.
I think there a more than enough subjects to think about / to give Paul Walker a tribute AFTER QUITE A WHILE.........

...just my thoughts...

I agree a100% about how you feel. I am not over the shock myself. Don't get me wrom here i have the best intentions with this build. But somehow this is what i want to build in memory of him. And this will not be the only thing ill build as a tribute. I will build the supra,skyline and maybe some others aswell.

Hey, everybody is different. We all handle and express emotions differently.

I don't see anything offensive with building the car, but that is just me. I am as different as everyone else is too.

There has to be a connection between Paul and the car for this to be a tribute build right. Paul Walker did not own this car. The Carrera GT was actually owned by Always Evolving which started out as a performance/customization shop owned by Roger Rodas and later Paul had a stake in the shop. Since him and Paul were freinds, he used Paul's dealership licence to buy/sell cars at Always Evolving. So the shop is part performance workshop for tuning cars and at the same time the place is maintained as an active showroom for rare and exotic vehicles (most established performance shops do that nowadays). So technically speaking the Carrera GT was not owned by Paul Walker. It was the property of Always Evolving. Maybe you should build one of his personal car, the vehicle he used on a daily basis or maybe one from his movies. Why choose a car that doesn't connect him to the vehicle except in a negative way? In fact that was the very first time Paul went for a ride in that car. Building a LFA for Hiromu Naruse will be regarded as a tribute build but don't get me wrong here, Carrera GT is the best that Porsche has to offer, but in this case that car cannot be a tribute build for Paul Walker. I am NOT saying this because he crashed and died in that car, but I am saying this because he was not directly the owner of the car, the car was not registered to him, he never even drove the car and the car was not a part of him, his life or family. So how can this be a tribute build for him?

Just built the car as any other exotic, its one of the best supercar out there but don't make it "California number 7CCY590".

I was never a fan of the movies, but living in Santa Barbara, I ran across Paul Walker a dozen times. He was a great person. He treated those around him as equals, always made time for fans. I assumed him being a star and S.B. resident that he had some kick ass mansion in Montecito, the Riviera, or Hope ranch, (all Mega rich areas.) only to find out from a local news story after his death, that he had a very normal home in a very down to earth neighborhood on the Mesa. I now regret not speaking with him as I didn't want to bother him out of respect for his privacy. Breaks my heart...
Do him justice on this build...

Great work, Are you going to use the rear mesh? Ive seen a few people build this kit with the Scale motorsport PE set & have decided to use the tamiya kit clear plastic with mesh decal. Hope you decide to use it!
I found with the templates that yes most of them were too big, but the main issue is most of them wont be seen at all (like the sides the entire front area etc) Unless you have the clear version that tamiya released.

The funny thing is, I think that Tamiya got it right originally. I've never seen one of these built with aftermarket PE mesh that looks as good as Tamiya's decals. It's very tempting to want a metal part there, and to think that it is better- but I have been disappointed by every one I have seen. Yet the kit parts look surprisingly good....
