Will I see a noticable difference when I put the 5 speed in?
I still have the stock STD engine in now....no power to begin with...
this is just the 1st step in the transformation but I was just wondering if I will feel anything with the tranny swap. ??

Now I will be able to use the same axles and hubs right?
I have heard conflicting stories on this... LX tranny into STD

yes, the Si tranny is geared WAY better, even with the d15b1 you will feel alot more power

u will have to buy new hubs and axles from either a dx, si, lx or ex, the std hubs and axles have less splines on the shaft that goes into the tranny

That makes sense. Any idea how much those run for?

Well actually i put an 91 crx si tranny in my 90 hatch, and it fit right in. I didn't have to buy a new hub assembly or anything. But i think the splines differ between the 88-89 and the 90-91 models crx and civics. You might want to check up on it though

You can still use your STD axles just fine.

on the other hand as long as you tell someone at a parts shop what your getting them for brand new axils run around $50-$120 for both if you give them the old ones the price goes down.
