Hi guys,
I have a question. Is it posibble to convert a Ford GT40 into a Mirage Ford M1? I'm truying to build all Jacky Ickx's Le Mans entry cars from 1966 until 1985. Mostly can be build from Tamiya and Fujimi kits, but the other are hard to find like the Mirage GR.8 and the Mirage Ford M1. Others are available from MFH. Does anybody know if its possible to make both Mirage cars from existing models? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Lesley

Hi Lesley.
I have build this car a long time ago , the kit was K-Joker from Japan.
But I Think that LeMans Miniatures do have it in stock

how do you mean?
I have it my head that the original M1 car was essentially the Ford GT with a slightly different body (mainly the roof).
There are other little differences too like plainer, flatter sides and straighter back but as I see it, most work would be around the roof.
Looking at photos, I can't see an easy way to do it.
edit:
a couple of useful illustrations
Mirage M1

Ford GT MK2 (bear in mind that the Ford GT cars had different variations in their bodywork too)

for clarity, I posted that image of the MKII-B because that was what that company has online for ease of comparison.
I think the MK1 (i.e GT40P-1076) body is a closer match to the M1.

Not sure about the Mirages but Renaissance do his Porsche 936-76

It's different from the 77(80) and 78(79,81) cars which you can do with Tamiya (and after market decals for 79,80,81)

Sorry rgiffs, but i don't buy incomplete kits. I have done this before and got screwed every time. So thanks for the offer, but i'm going to pass on it.
Best regards,
Lesley
