i just bought a 1990 s15 jimmy for my 16th bday and i want to know some stuff about it if anyone can help.
1. how big of a lift do i have to go so i can fit a 31x10.5 tire on it?
2. when i get the lift will it interfere with the 4 wheel drive on it bc its on the floor to engage it like most of u know and i dont want it to be pulled down and lowered in the cab so i cant engage it if u know what i mean.also if i decide to be cheap and not get a 3inch suspension lift would a 3inch body lift mess up the 4wheel drive?
3. i also want to know about my drive shafts bc im thinking of about a 3inch suspension lift or body lift (or whatever is the least i can lift it with 31's fitting without clearence problems)i hear about people having to get new driveshafts for the front and rear bc theres are at to steep of and angle so i would like to know if a 3inch suspension or body would call for new driveshafts? well any help is appreciated thanks

I know this is not want you want to hear, but...
I was 16 once, and I wanted to do things like this to vehicles, so I understand, BUT I'll tell you the truth: you will be opening up a can of worms if you do this. You will get into the project and discover dozens of little things that need to be replaced or modified, and it will become the biggest money pit you ever imagined. Not to mention all the aggravation and the diminished reliability of your ride. I'm not saying it can't be done, but the way to accomplish it is to throw mega$$$$$$ at it to do it right.
If you want to customize, get some custom wheels and good tires and stick with the original size---or at least within the range the factory offered. Then spend all that money on a new water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, U-joints, tie-rod ends, bushings, idler arms, and a K&N Filter, and maybe a nice paint job. You will then have prevented several headaches---instead of inventing them.
