C5 vs. Gixxer1300

Last night on my way back from the gym my buddy who was with me deciced to remind me that no matter how fast my sports car is, it will never match the speed of his sports BIKE, lol.
I was in my father's exhaust-only C5 Corvette, my friend was on a slightly modded Gixxer1300(Hayabusa).

I told him that we would get on I95 and when the traffic was clear I would honk, and the honk would signify that I was getting ready to go. The "headstart" I got would be that after the honk I could go at any time, and he would just have to do his best to anticipate and stay with me from the go. So we're on I95 and traffic clears up. We saddle in next to each other and I slow to about 35mph. I honk once and after about 1 second passes I give it all it's worth. I catch him way off guard, as he assumed that I was going to wait at least a little bit after the honk to go. From second gear, I punch it and take it to the red, putting about a length on him. That's where things went sour. I shifted into third and got passed, he gained countless carlengths through third and fourth, up to about 115 where he flashed and ended the assault, with me about 10 cars back, lol. Oh well, all in great fun!!

Damn:eek:. I should take the time to learn how to ride and get my motorcycle license so I can trade in my car for a sportbike and start whooping some ass. That would be sweet.

its way too easy in a sportbike though. Especailly a turbo'd bike. Yeah, just imagine if that gixxer was running boost!:worshippy

Hayabusa = 9 second stock bike and capable of 200+mph

I have a site to host it at, but don't want to wait the 515151981951 hours it takes for it to upload, lol. I got it off of Kazaa though, so you might be able to find it there:smile:

If you're running 11's like you say, it shouldn't have "raped" you. It would've, however beat you at the top-end, which sounds like it, if you say this happened in 4th gear.

That setup on an '03 Cobra can get you mid-11's easy. An '03 with that setup can also pull on a BPU+ Supra on the freeway. The '03 driver must've been shocked that you hung that far, though...

The guy with the Hayabusa is set to race a turbo Lt1 tonight, if the rain doesn't harass us and the streets are looking good. Gonna be maniac. I have my money on the LT1 though:bigthumb:
It's a fully forged Nu-Tek 383 able to push 15lbs(fuel-limited) safely, through an auto tranny. Don't know what gear he is running for sure, but I believe it is a 3.42. I'll let you all know if and how it goes down:smile:

meh no, the headliner is still falling down and I need to get the vinyl either glued or replaced next to one side of the shifter. Tried turning on the subwoofers and they sound like shit so I new subs now too. Could use a good washing as well its a dirty bastard.

Typical 3rd gen lol.

I think that is a short 4th gear actually. i can remember exactly how to read all those but i think that the 5th is pretty long and 2nd and 4th are so short you can skip over them unless you want to drop to those gears...Right or did i just make an ass out of myself?

JDM wrx gear
.083 (1st),
2.062 (2nd),
1.545 (3rd),
1.151 (4th),
0.825 (5th)
same reverse and same final drive!!! that is some good ratio!

btw, USDM gear ratio I posted above have top speed somewhere around 180 mph of course we all know that WRX does not have the power nor aero to reach that high
