That I barely go out anymore. I mean to parties, clubs and such. I get plenty of invites, so it's not like I have no place to go. Just that I recently noticed my trend in that I'm online more now then outside. Call it a change of the guard but, it's weird. I use to go to a club every day of the week. Parties, fuhgedaboudit! One every week. I'm not complaining. I guess I would be a prime candidate for a Matrix type world in the future. I have more friends now Nationally as well as Internationally, then I used to before. Reasons for my ramblings today is because of something that I thought about. I've never seen or met Primera Man. Yet I feel like if we bumped into each other, it's like I haven't seen him since a few days ago. Like if he's around my area and what not. I'm sure the feeling is mutual. We can pick up where we left off basically. I say the same thing about a few other members here who I frequently talk to. So, how many of you feel the same way? Like if you actually bumped into the person you talk to here or online period, would you be as open to them in person as you are online?

P.S. This is not excluding anyone that I socialize with, I just used PM as a prime example. There are many of you who I talk to frequently. So don't think I excluded you from my comments.:D:D

Come to think about it, NYC would be in trouble if PM, JD and myself ever got together at the same time within the same vicinity.http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smileys/contrib/icw/020.gif

My words as well DOC....YOU HAVE MAIL.

I'm the same to these days......its always good to go out for a beer or 3 but there is so much agro these days i find its better at times to stay have with a couple of 6 paks.

There are a few here i talk too which i'm sure if we meet we would get on like we do here......but the DOC is someone i just have to meet at some stage.

Thats enough of this male bonding !!

That is a hideous smilie.

Myself, I find that I do use the internet to communicate more and more. But I still try to get out. It doesnt help that I work on the computer for 10 hours a day either.

You've got mail from me too, man :D :D

As for your original post, I agree. Sometimes I feel like I live in a cave, but I enjoy getting to know lots of people, even if only through the internet and such. Sometimes getting to know people very well on a face-to-face level gets to be hard. You start to see all their faults, and often it is overwhelming. I start to wish that I didn't know them so well, and I begin to distance myself. Relationships with people you know well take work.. sometimes more work than its worth. The internet provides a refreshing, different way to meet and relate to people. And in that context, it is also safer.

Funny you should mention that - I lost some sleep because of AF myself yesterday. In fact, I think I'm going to get off-line and head to get some sleep, dammit!!

I'm desperately addicted to AF, but I've been off a bit more lately. I have been helping out my family.

I definately think that I could just run into one of the AFers and start up where we left off online. I know I'd be willing to meet up with some East Coasters from the US at some point just to see what they were like IRL... But that's another thread :D

Now, KB, I'll agree wholeheartedly on THAT one! I work on the computer all day too, so it's almost second nature that I meet people online, as well. But my problem is that I'm really shy and I find that I can be a bit more at ease here than in person.

Everyone here at my job thinks that I'm really stuck-up or something along those lines. But the one or two friends that I have know that I'm pretty fun to be around.

Well Nubian, to be honest, I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I only have like 5 people I call my friends. That's all I want. Everyone else is an acquaintance. But online, I have more friends than I can count. Which is cool, cause like they say in the New York Lotto, "Hey, you never know".:D
